Yesterday, Monday 1st November, there was a solidarity event for Palestine and
a conference about the resistance movement in Israel at a venue at the
Municipal Park in Agrinio. The event wasconnected to the international
mobilization of anarchists against Sharon's Wall (22nd October was a worldwide
day of action) in which comrades from 15 countries in Europe, North and South
America and Oceania took part.
The conference was presented by two Israeli comrades, Nilly Barness and Ronen,
who are members of the "Anarchists Against the Wall" group. They provided lots
of information about the resistance movement against Sharon's government that
has developed over the past few months in areas where the notorious new
apartheid Wall is being constructed. The movement isparticipated in jointly by
Israeli anarchists and Palestinian, on the basis of the common struggle for
social freedom. There was a good deal of discussion regarding the forms of
action, the armed Palestinian struggle and communication between the anarchists
and people living in traditional communities with powerful religious and
community ties.

The event was attended by around 40 individuals including member of the
Palestinian community in Agrinio, syndicalists, students and anarchist
comrades. The event was organised by the Federation of Anarchists of Western
Greece (OADE) and was one of a series of events held throughout western Greece:
in Patras on Sunday 31st October and Ioannina on Tuesday 2nd November.
