The second SCOTTISH DISSENT meeting took place in Perth,(SCOTLAND)
on the 20th November, from 2pm till 5pm. This meeting was open to
everyone and took place at the TWA TAMS on Scott St. There was 100%
disabled access, but again if you were bringing a dog they had to be
left outside. There was a range of topics to discuss and voices were
heard. There was no charge, but the pub sold some good local beers and wines.
More than a dozen present. in the Twa Tams, Perth
1. Introductions were made.
2. A blank agenda was passed round to establish what people wanted to discuss.
3. Concerns were raised over the level of background noise, but as
there was nowhere else available at such short notice the group
agreed to try their best to continue with the meeting.

4. Stuart? pointed out that this group comprises individuals with
different ideas about how actions should be carried out, and asked
how this would affect issues such as camps and accommodation
for the events next July. This was discussed amongst the group,
with agreement that this would be discussed further. Also
forwarded by Stuart? was the proposal to declare a concensus of
disruption to the G8 summit. This was agreed with and taken up
by the group.

5. Spacebunny filled in background about Dissent!, Reshape, and
the PGA. He also raised concerns about the PGA, and explained
some of the history behind this group and other recent protests.
He described the fundraising structure in the Edinburgh Reshape
group. He also agreed to produce an information leaflet for the
Perth area, and raised the issue of a name for the local group,
which will be further discussed at the next meeting.

6. The group discussed Gleneagles at length. Technical aspects of
accommodation, transport, land, legal issues and resistance were
raised.

7. Feedback was received from Edinburgh & Glasgow groups,
events were announced and progress noted. Edinburgh holding
mtgs every 2 weeks and organising a minibus + sleeping bag
space for the gathering in Newcastle, 2-5th Dec.

8. Joe agreed to correspond with the group to facilitate
co-ordination of contact with landowners. He also proposed local
actions and agreed to organise the next meeting.

9. A stall was proposed for the perth area. To be arranged.

10. The meeting then broke into smaller groups to discuss things
in more detail.

Many specific details have been omitted here.
