Two days ago i came to phynthion from istanbul.
Phyntion is the first town on greek border.
Ticket cost 25 million TL. At 8.30 train left Sirkeci
and arrived the border at 14.30. From here there is
a train leaving on 11 at night to Salonika, 12 euro,
but it's too slow, stops everywhere. So i didn't take it,
i hitchiked. From Phyntion it is hard to hitchike. You
have to walk 15 km. until u reach a crowded street.
Turkish lorry drivers are taking hitchikers. Local people
took me three times but when u say i come from turkey
they don't like it. Twice they didn't take me because
of this reason. So i told them some fantastic stories
as i am citizen of some other countries etc. and
arrived salonika.
If u wanna hitchike it's better to go alexandroupolis
by train (31 million TL) and try from there.
In the border, police will ask u where u go, they
may also ask for an address. they asked me address,
i said i don't have. I thought they could create some
difficulty so i gave phone number of a friend. I gave
the number, they have called and no other problem.

And salonika. This is the second biggest city of
greece. Population one million, athens 4 million.
looks like izmir.
Yet not so many people in salonika. Yesterday I have
met 5 people coming from other countries. They
are staying in a squatt called black cat. Everyone is
asking for u. They ask when will anarchists from Turkey
will come. One even asked 150 people will come, is that
true. I said u should pray god. Joking apart everyone is
really seeking for you.
I told that they have monetary problems, some will not
able to come 'coz they work. So I just transfered the
words some friends in -tr told me. my comment is bit
different. I think it was also related with lack of interest
and laziness.

General info is this:
Greek government is in such a mood that it'll be better
if we seem to be democratic and more tolerant.
It means they don't wanna show their ugly face as
long as there is no big need. They are arranging
camp sites, bus tickets for protestors, places for
press and congress activities. 100 000 protestors
are being expected. Even a state channel named
ET3 thought a goodness for hearing 'anti global'
voices; starting from the beginning of june
they will broadcast programs in which delegates
of action salonika 2003, reformist greek
social forum and trotkist genoa 2001 can talk
and declare their ideas.

Today 10 000 policemen will come to salonika. The
problem in here is not only cops also communist party
They are expecting about 40 000 members &
sympathizers and cooperating with cops. Coms want to
build up a human barricade to prevent violent acts. They
say this is not the first case. They showed me a video.
Communists attacking anarchists, they are fighting
with each other, later cops are surrounding anarchists.
Anarchists are preparing on actions against this.

This is all i can write for now. I'll try to pass u some
more info later.
