Whoever wins the elections, we lose. The real decision makers behind
war and empire are getting together in Chicago to meet with representatives
from congress and the Coalition Provisional Authority at an international
banking conference. Their agenda includes the occupation of Iraq, the
USA PATRIOT Act, and free trade agreements like the FTAA and CAFTA.
While the rich discuss policies that affect the lives of billions of people
worldwide, activists will converge on the Intercontinental to resist these
parasites and let them know that they are not welcome in our city. This
election season, we are encouraging people to become active outside the
realm of mere electoral politics.

ELECTIONS 2004: CHICAGO WEEK OF RESISTANCE

On November 4th, Chicago will see the invasion of hundreds of
unelectable, unaccountable, undesireable villains. Only two days after the
elections, a virtual army of vampires are coming to suck our poor dry,
then flap away into the night. The Bankers Association for Finance &
Trade (http://www.baft.org) will descend upon our city for their Annual
Conference on International Finance. Meeting with members of
congress, the Trade Bank of Iraq and the Coalition Provisional Authority,
they will be discussing free trade and international finance with focused
workshops regarding the occupation of Iraq, the war on terrorism, and the
USA PATRIOT Act.

BAFT's Board of Directors includes top executives from CitiGroup, US
Bancorp, Bank of America, and most of the other largest US bank
corporations, and corporate membership includes major banks all over
the world. Among those participating in the Annual Conference are "over
225 senior bankers together with corporate executives and management
of government agencies". While the issues they are discussing affect the
lives of billions of people worldwide, only the rich and powerful are invited
to participate in the creation of these policies.

This election season, participate in the democratic process by doing more
than just voting. This is a call for all poor people, concerned persons and
vampire slayers to resist and harass these rich white parasites and let
them know that they aren't welcome in our city. All individuals and
groups interested are encouraged to participate with this call as part of the
Beyond Voting campaign. Raise your fist at the unelected, unwanted
people who are really in power. Don’t just vote, get active!

NOV 4-5: TWO DAYS OF ANTI-CAPITALIST RESISTANCE

Thursday Nov 4: 5pm WAR PROFITEERS, GO HOME! RALLY /
MARCH AGAINST THE FINANCIAL BACKERS OF EMPIRE

BAFT will be meeting with representatives of the Trade Bank of Iraq and
the Coalition Provisional Authority to open Iraq's doors to foreign capital.
Discussing the occupation of Iraq, the USA PATRIOT Act, and free
trade, the bankers will discuss ways of making money off of war and
terrorism. Join us for a rally and march against the war, the occupation,
and the financial backers of empire!

Into the early hours: HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT? A night of
autonomous resistance against BAFT. While the bankers rest after a day
of insider trading, bribery, dishonesty and cronyism, we will make some
noise!

Friday 6am to 2pm: OUR WORLD IS NOT FOR SALE - FREE STUFF
FRIDAY!

While the rich and powerful gather to discuss how to profit off of the
'emerging market opportunities' created by so-called 'free trade'
agreements, activists will gather outside the convention to celebrate
alternatives to their sick money society.

We are calling for a FREE MARKET, a space where people can gather to
share food, music, books, skills, and visions of a world free from money
and power politics. Participate in this celebration of democracy and
community living by reclaiming public space and sharing resources,
skills, love and joy with our fellow brothers and sisters. Bring food, books,
clothes, music, and other things to share.

10am MARCH AGAINST THE CENTRAL AMERICAN FREE TRADE
AGREEMENT We will march in solidarity with people internationally
against the Central American Free Trade Agreement. Demand an end to
all corporate globalization treaties that hurt workers, the environment,
and reduce our lives into commidities to be bought and sold!

All events will take place around the Intercontinental Hotel located at 505
North Michigan
