Announcements Mass anti-provincial government demonstration in
Victoria, BC on May 15th. This is a Day of Defiance against the
"capitalist agenda" of BC's Liberal government.
Demonstrators and those working who cannot attend are being
encouraged by the organisers of the demonstration to wear black in
a show of solidarity. The rally will converge at Centennial Square at
11am, and proceed along a route from there. There will be lots of
food and speakers.
Anarchists are encouraged to contact local anarchists for
information on meeting up with other anarchists for an anti-capitalist
/ anarchist contingent to the demonstration and rally.

The Provincial government in BC has implemented massive cuts to
the social system which have had devastating effects on the
working poor of the province. Post-seoncary students have faced
tuition hikes, elementary and high schools in working class
neighbourhoods are being closed [two more in Victoria alone],
union contracts are being legislated over, rampant union busting,
seniors programs are being targeted, Welfare is being privatised,
among many other things. The heads of the provincial healthy
authority, for example, are the executives of large corporations like
London Drugs. It's important to have a strong, anti-capitalist
contingent for this demo.
