Would you like to become a street medic for progressive political
demonstrations? Would you like to learn basic skills that would be
useful for protests, outdoor adventures and community first aid?
Come to the street medic training in Boston in February, 2004!
BALM Squad* Street Medic Training
Training includes basic first aid, injury prevention, treatment for
pepper spray and tear gas, management of injuries from other
weapons (rubber bullets, batons, etc.), tools to help provide
emotional support during stressful situations, and much much more.

No previous medical or demonstration experience is necessary.
The training is specifically designed to train street medics, who
provide first aid and support during demonstrations and direct
actions. However, the information is useful for anyone who might
deliver first aid in the community or who might encounter police
oppression and brutality.

February 6 - 8, 2004 * Boston, MA * Sliding Scale Fee

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

We have a sliding scale fee from $0 to $100, and we welcome
barter in place of money. We do not want financial restrictions to
keep anyone from participating. We anticipate that our cost per
trainee will be $30 - 40, and we hope that donations from
participants will cover our costs. We can help with housing for
anyone coming from out of town. We hope to be able to provide
child care during the workshop.

For more information, go to http://www.bostoncoop.net/balm email
bostonmedics@riseup.net call 857 891-1666 (a local call from the
Boston area)

Please forward this information to anyone who you think might be
interested.

Thanks! The BALM Squad
