Yesterday an Irish activist (Mary Kelly) entered Shannon airport and attacked
 a US navy war plane with a hachet (small axe).  She did over 500,000 worth of
 damage and this plane is now grounder, awaiting repairs. This is the sixth
 succesful Direct Action at Shannon in the last year and the second in which a
 US military plane was damaged. The largest of these actions back in October
 saw 150 people take part in breaking down part of the perimeter fence and then
 entering the airfield itself. ...

1999'da polis gözetimi altındayken ölen Roger Sylvester'ın dördüncü ölüm
 yıldönümü olan 11 Ocak tarihinde, Tottenham polis karakolu önünde yüz kadar
 insan biraraya geldi. Fazlasıyla soğuk olan hava, insanlara Roger'ın
 evinden sekiz polis memuru tarafından çırılçıplak çıkarıldığı günü
 anımsatıyordu. Polis tarafından özgürlüğü kısıtlandığı sıralarda Roger
 komaya girdi ve yedi gün sonra da öldü.

 police station on 11th January to mark the fourth 
 anniversary of the death of Roger Sylvester, who died in 
 police custody in 1999. The exceptionally cold weather 
 served to remind people that Roger was carried naked 
 from his home by eight officers. While he was being 
 restrained by them, he fell into a coma and seven days
