Campaigners successfully shut down a US spy camp on 24th
 October in a blockade which lasted five hours. The closure of
 the base at RAF Menwith Hill happened when protesters
 discovered that the main entrance was closed for
 maintenance. They chained themselves to two smaller gates
 instead, effectively sealing the area.
 The blockade was the second major breach in the base's
 security in less than four months, following an incursion by

At least 20,000 people brought the city to a standstill on 19th
 October, with a march of protest against the threatened attack
 on Iraq. Several activists described the march as the biggest
 peace demonstration ever seen in Scotland, and they said it
 would send a clear signal to warmongers in London and

 de la journée canadienne sur le logement. Ciblant l’armée et la SCHL sans
