In 2023 the FAR celebrates 15 years as an anarchist political organization. And 
as always, round numbers cause balance. That there is anarchism in the 21st 
century is no longer disputed by anyone, that there is still much to be done. 
That our organization manages to maintain, develop and influence different social 
spheres is where we position ourselves and project ourselves to continue building 
special anarchism in Argentina. In permanent contact and dialogue with colleagues 
from different parts of the country, Latin America and the world.
With the change of the calendar year, we are presented with the possibility of a 
new beginning, compared to ordering our practices, to project ourselves and act 
with a new impetus in the coming year. However, although it was an atypical 
December where people had more joy than usual, at least on the soccer field, the 
start of the new year will not bring surprises.

Throughout 2022, we are closely observing and suffering the effects of an 
economic and social crisis that has dragged on for years, but which has deepened 
in the last year to unbearable levels. The acceleration of inflation of almost 
100% per year is associated with an increase in the level of poverty and the 
number of homeless people. Unemployment rates are alarmingly high, especially due 
to the proliferation of precarious, informal and undeclared work with which we 
live on a daily basis.

2023 will undoubtedly be marked by the electoral campaign, where everyone will 
want to present themselves as saviors of the same framework they built, shaking 
off the adjustment measures imposed by the IMF and its local agents.

It is then when anarchism reappears as a very necessary political and 
methodological perspective to influence this situation. Because the electoral 
game will not mark the agenda of popular needs nor will it bring real relief or 
radical transformation. It is clear that it is time to strengthen the popular 
organization, in the context of the resistance that this year began to deepen and 
accelerate a whole series of conquests and rights that we still have in the 
country. It will be time to face the labor reform, open or clandestine, the 
educational reform that deceives our youth to guarantee a meek and ignorant 
people. We also have to deal with the increase in power and the budget allocated 
to the armed forces and the mechanisms of repression, as well as the fight 
against pollution,

The tasks at this stage will not be as great as others that we know from many 
generations that preceded us and were protagonists of moments of innovation in 
social struggles. Today the task is equally important, to contribute to the 
construction of a strong popular movement, a movement that trusts in its own 
strength and can make its own decisions. Do not pin your hopes on some messiah of 
electoral politics. Strong people who gain experience fighting claims and 
building organization through the achievement of their demands. A people that 
begins to build another power, popular power, to counteract the authoritarian 
regime to which the capitalist system submits us.
