(en) Spaine, CGT Andalucia: Paper Barricade Nº51. The love for animals, the greatest libertarian and revolutionary feeling today (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Mon, 12 Sep 2022 09:31:02 +0300

An adult animal also makes its choice when you adopt it ---- One of the things I don't understand about the decision to foster an animal in life, is that in most cases, people want it to be a baby. Being an adult, I fail to understand that way of thinking. As an adult, I understand myself better with another adult person. As a temporary home, I have had quite a few offspring, because I have not been able to look the other way, but deciding that an animal be part of my life has always been a bond with an adult animal, a form of falling in love, a decision of two. ---- There are so many adult animals on the streets that could live in homes, that it seems to me that the vast majority of people who do not give an animal that is no longer a baby a chance, make a big mistake. Adopting an adult animal has many advantages because you already know its character, its appearance, its way of behaving and most importantly, it is a decision without pressure because the animal also makes its choice.

I make this reflection out loud because they have no voice and the vast majority of animals that exceed their first few months of life become invisible. If we could change that way of thinking, as a society we would be part of the solution to the problem that places us as a country in first place in the European Community with the largest number of abandoned animals.
