Organizations of the extreme right and fascist march in Kiev do. ---- The conflict in
Ukraine is directly linked to increased conflicts between the major capitalist states of
the Interstate System. On the one hand, we have continuous Russian resumption of its
power, the minimum area of influence over the former Soviet Union republics belonging to.
On the other, the U.S. role, secundarizado by the powers of the European Union since the
fall of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet dismantling began a policy of "humiliation" of the
former power, funding wars of secession, which dissolved the former Yugoslavia and "
revolutions "in Serbia (2000), Georgia (2003), Ukraine (2004) and Kyrgyzstan (2005) who
sought to put in power pro-Western political leaders.
All these movements were created and supported by the U.S. government through
organizations such as United States Agency for International Development (USAID), National
Endowment Democracy (NED), International Republican Institute (IRI), National Democratic
Institute for International Affairs (NDI), Freedom House (FH), Albert Einstein Institution
and Open Society Institute (OSI) funded by the American government, companies and
financial funds, as George Soros, parties and trade union confederations, such as the
AFL-CIO, known for supporting coups in America Latin.
Domestically, Ukraine has the divergence of political leaders and oligarchs who
control the state and the economy, plagued by serious corruption, and the historic
colonial situation of submission to power in Moscow. In this sense, the internal political
positions are directly related to the Russian or Western support.
The Rescentralização Central Authority in Russia
After the end of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in 1991, has consolidated
the process of capitalist restoration, completed by Mikhail Gorbachev, who concentrated in
the hands of new oligarchs coming from Soviet ultracentralização. True birds of prey in
the privatization process alumni fortunes and took control of the local economy forming an
oligarchy. Meanwhile, workers in the region have suffered impoverishment and deteriorating
living conditions. In Ukraine this process is even stronger. Only with the rise of
Vladimir Putin as president of Russia in 2000 that starts a process of recovery of the
centralization of power in the country through a militarization with a Russian nationalist
discourse.
From this moment Russia shall resume its political-military and economic role in the
capitalist interstate system and tries to regain the influence in Eastern Europe, Central
Asia and a new international political alliances. This was done through an alliance with
China, although some boundary disputes with the formation of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO) and the formation of BRICS. This has generated tensions against U.S.
and European interests (German and French, mostly).
The Euro-Maidan Movement
The current situation in Ukraine is directly linked: 1) the direction of the "Orange
Revolution", 2004; 2) Ukrainian oligarchy that controls the state and 3) the imperialist
disputes between Russia and the United States.
The "Orange Revolution", in fact a coup with Western support, prevented the arrival
to power of Victor Yanukovich, the pro-Russian candidate. Thus came to power pro-Western
candidate Viktor Yushchenko, President, Julia Tymoshenko, prime minister, who remained in
control of the central government between 2005 and 2010. During 2008, the Ukrainian
government asked NATO membership, however the action Russian policy and the refusal of
France and Germany, with military and energy agreements with Moscow, Ukraine adhered
prevented NATO.
In this scenario, has risen tensions between Russia and the USA. The American
attempt, with the support of NATO and EU, installing missile bases in Poland and Turkey
has generated diplomatic conflicts. These political-military conflicts add to the attempt
of Turkey and EU installing a pipeline from Georgia to Europe, to reduce European
dependence, mainly German, Russian gas. However, the economic conditions of the Moscow
supplies were much better, which prevented the Turkish-European project. The
reestablishment of central authority in Moscow prevented the plans from the west of
humiliation former world power now seeking to reestablish its sphere of influence. Not
coincidentally negotiating the installation of military bases in Cuba, Nicaragua,
Venezuela, Vietnam and Singapore and has an in Syria.
Added to these newer factors, ethnic and colonial problem that historically marks the
country and now divides Ukraine. Chauvinism appears as a political-military line on both
sides, and Russian diplomacy shall defend military intervention from this point of view:
to defend the interests of Ukrainians of Russian origin.
The Crimean independence with Russian backing main point was to maintain the naval
base in Sevastopol, base of the Russian Navy since 1783. Moreover, the region of Crimea,
scene of quarrel between the Tsarist empire, turkish-otomando and Austro-Hungarian in
nineteenth century, was officially annexed to the Ukrainian territory by the former
president of the USSR, Nikita Khrushchev, in 1953, who made his political career in the
country.
Protests of Maidan Square
The movement emerged in Maidan Square in late November of 2013, in reaction to the
suspension by President Viktor Yanukovich - pro-Russia - negotiations on a free trade
agreement with Brussels. This agreement tends to turn Ukraine into a "new Greece". The
movement in Maidan Square metamorphosed. Initially joining several thousand pro-European
party, the square became along the repression, the symbol of the uprising of Ukrainians of
all kinds against a highly corrupt and oligarchic political system, being distinguished
from other revolts that has been happening in the world . Herself Magazine The Economist
ranks the Ukrainian system as the most corrupt political systems arising from the
destruction of the USSR. The revolt began against Yanukovych and opposition parties reached.
However, the second time the right wing parties and extreme right have become the
main political forces in organizational movement Euromaidan. They are: the Pan-Ukrainian
Union (Batkivshina) pro-European liberal party, an observer member of the European
People's Party (EPP) which brings together the main parties of the European right,
including the CDU (Christian Democratic Union German) Chancellor Angela Merkel ; Ukrainian
Democratic Alliance for Reform (Udar) also liberal and pro-European, has the support of
institutions linked to American Republicans and the German CDU Chancellor; The Svoboda, a
party of the extreme right-wing ultranationalist. Svoboda has links with the French
National Front, Marine Le Pen, in addition to controlling a paramilitary organization, the
Patriots of Ukraine and finally the Pravy Sektor (Sector Right) a federation of small
groups of the extreme right and fascist radical (Trident, Patriots of Ukraine, the
Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian National Self-Defense, Hammer White and the
radical wing of the Svoboda) that considers the very liberal Svoboda.
In turn, the Batkivtchina, Udar and Svoboda made an alliance first materilializada
the Action Group for the National Resistance who helped bring down the Yanukovich
government and now in parliament with the formation of the coalition "European Option",
which brings together some 250 parliamentarians and the formation of the executive branch,
where Svoboda has three ministers.
Both the western side, as the Russian side there ultranationalist forces, which are
used chauvinism characteristic of Putin's policy on resumption of centralized authority of
Moscow. If so confront a pro-European Ukrainian nationalism and other Russian nationalism
championed by Russia. So, if placed in the defense of political-military intervention, as
in the Crimea, where there is still a Tatar minority, and in defense of all gifts Russians
in Ukraine.
In this sense, Western forces after continuous military interventions recently Libya,
Egypt and Syria, trying to counter Russian policy on the hypocritical accusation of his
military policy action. Without the Sino-Russian approval is not possible, at least
legally, to support NATO military operation similar to what happened in Libya. The
European situation is even more delicate, since Germany depends on Russian gas, France
signed a military agreement and England has billions of dollars in financial investment in
City, coming from the Russian oligarchs who populate London.
President Victor Yanukovich - pro-Russian - which won elections in February of 2010
took refuge in Russia. The protests of the Euro-Maidan caused Viktor Yushchenko and Julia
Tymoshenko, arrested in 2011 for corruption, were raised to the principal leaders of the
country's post. Ie, an exchange of the oligarchy, now with parliamentary far right and
supported by Brussels and Washington-based right. Meanwhile, the pro-Russian nationalist
groups sought autonomy for their regions under the tutelage of Moscow. The position of the
Ukrainian Communist Party, which advocated the deposed government, was the defense of law
and political system pointing positively to alliance with Moscow. In this sense, adopted a
line of self-defense establishment around the current system and of statues and monuments
raised by the USSR were systematically attacked by conservative political forces.
Workers not up to defend Obama or Putin, the Russian or Ukrainian nationalists, but
the construction of self-government workers passing through the ransom of
internationalism, as it did the Communards, the confrontation between the German and
French State, and workers in Russian Revolution when they adopted the line of destruction
of the tsarist state and the provisional government by the Socialist Revolution.
