Pinar Selek support committee in Lorient
Dear friends, dear friends,
We have just created a Support Committee for Pinar SELEK. More than ever, Pinar 
needs our unfailing support, in this very heavy period of consequences for its 
future. For 25 years, half of her life, the Turkish state has pursued her: 
imprisoned in 1998, tortured, she was able to flee her country to take refuge in 
Europe. The Supreme Court of Turkey overturns the judgments rendered by the 
Istanbul Court, which exonerated her of all the charges with which she is 
accused, on the false statements of a witness who admitted having confessed under 
torture. Pinar is a sociologist, a writer, but above all, his voice rises and 
translates into actions for the defense of all minorities (street children, 
women, LGBTI, prostitutes, Armenians, Kurds), relentlessly, and at the risk of 
his life. This is what the Turkish State and the Supreme Court under orders 
cannot tolerate. On March 31, the last judgment of this Court will be rendered. 
The verdict is Pinar's life indictment, accompanied by an international arrest 
warrant, with immediate arrest.

We must all mobilize against this iniquitous threat, this parody of justice, 
which is only revenge against a free and rebellious woman who fights against all 
injustices. Pinar, a teacher at the University of Nice, now has French 
citizenship. This will undoubtedly secure her against extradition. But if the 
judgment is rendered, she risks life imprisonment, and arrest wherever she is. 
But "The Gray Wolves", who threaten her with death, are there and there.
