(en) Spaine, CGT returns to the streets together with alternative unionism "against the reforms that make the working class precarious" (ca, de, it, pt, tr) [machine translation]

Date Thu, 30 Jun 2022 08:36:35 +0300

On June 25, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) returns to the streets of Valencia with a joint call for alternative trade unionism in Plaza del Temple "against the reforms that make the working class more precarious." ---- CGT together with the alternative trade unionism of Valencia (CNT, COS and Intersindical Valenciana) calls for a rally in Plaza del Temple on June 25 "against the reforms that make the working class precarious" and emphasizes three demands such as "the complete repeal of the labor reforms of 2010 and 2012, against the cost of living and the general rise in prices and the opposition to the income pact that aims to contain salary and pension increases."

The anarcho-syndicalist organization affirms that "the so-called labor reform approved in February hides a reality that no one dares to deny, not even the financial powers, the right-wing and the bosses, and that is the fact that we are facing a consolidation of the most harmful aspects of the labor reforms of 2010 and 2012, processed in the midst of the financial crisis, with which important rights won with great struggles by workers were taken away." From CGT they contemplate that this labor reform is "a fraud for the aspirations and needs of the working class and, its acceptance, one more betrayal of the official unions of the 78 regime that for decades have been signing different agreements that present workers and the workers as if they were necessary steps to improve productivity, competitiveness and, always later, achieve supposed salary improvements, promotion of stable employment and other promises that are never fulfilled".

In addition, CGT considers that "to this nonsense, we must add the situation of uncertainty that we are suffering as a result of international geopolitical tensions, which the working class always ends up paying with their living conditions and with their own lives and which are always taken advantage of by the factual powers to speculate and obtain huge profits to the detriment of the conditions of existence of the majority of the world population". According to the anarcho-syndicalist organization "the current high cost of living in the Spanish State supposes a serious impoverishment of the population that will end up consolidating forever, the escalation of prices, that is, they will never return to previous levels and will only serve to increase obscenely the profits of the big companies, the multinationals and the energy oligopolies and now, the arms industry".

To all this, the CGT adds its concern about the so-called Income Pact "whose main basis is the containment of wages and pensions, in a new attempt to make the consequences of the crisis fall on the working class, calling us to responsibility, while the economic powers increase profits and the light tax pressure on large fortunes and corporate capital gains embarrasses us as a society".
