(en) Germany, Dia Platform: US Imperialist Aggression Against Cuba - Solidarity with the Cuban People! (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The US Embargo Against Cuba ---- Since the Cuban Revolution of 1960 and
the subsequent expropriation of US companies and citizens in Cuba, the
US has imposed a financial, trade, and political embargo against Cuba.
It is the longest trade embargo in modern history and has posed a
gigantic problem for the Cuban economy since the collapse of the
socialist Eastern Bloc: The country struggles with severe restrictions
on investment and tourism - its most important source of income. The
ability to establish political relations or trade with other countries
is also severely limited; yet Cuba is existentially dependent on foreign
trade.
Recent Tightening of the Blockade
With the beginning of Trump's second term in January 2025, the measures
were further tightened to intensify the pressure on Cuba. Previous
rapprochements were reversed, and, for example, migration of Cubans to
the US was further restricted.
Following the US attack on Venezuela, Cuba's main oil supplier, no more
oil can be imported from there, and in early January 2026, Trump ordered
a complete oil blockade of Cuba. Countries that do not comply are
threatened with "grave consequences." This has had serious repercussions
for Cuba: no more oil is entering the country, leading to blackouts and
significant disruptions to the electricity supply.
Cuba's Emergency Plan and International Support
In early February, the Cuban government announced an emergency plan to
adapt its energy supply and food production. Initial aid shipments from
Mexico have arrived. China and Russia also intend to increase their
influence in the region through their support. Furthermore, an
international fleet called "Nuestra América" has announced it will begin
delivering aid to Cuba in March. The German parliament has remained
largely silent so far, as have almost all German media outlets.
For the Cuban population, the situation is catastrophic. The blockade is
severely impacting the population and exacerbating their already
difficult circumstances.

Role
The blockade is not merely an economic measure or an act of
anti-communist revenge, but also an instrument of US imperialism to
destabilize Cuba. Trump has publicly announced military operations and
stated that the US aims for regime change in Cuba by the end of 2026.
The current imperialist aggression against Latin American countries
demonstrates that US imperialism operates both openly militarily
(Venezuela) and through economic isolation and the destruction of entire
economic systems. This punishes the Cuban state for its resistance
against US hegemony.
Solidarity with the People of Cuba
As anarchists, we have little regard for the Cuban state. Furthermore,
we know that anarchists and other opposition revolutionaries who
participated in the revolution were murdered by the Cuban authorities,
and that anarchist organizing in Cuba remains extremely difficult to
this day.
``` We do not stand in solidarity with the Cuban state regime, but with
the people of Cuba. For it is they who suffer under the unbridled
imperialism of the USA. The answer to every imperialist aggression
remains internationalism and class struggle!
