We hope you all got off to a good start into the new year (maybe one or the other
loudly at one of the anti-prison demos). ---- After a short break at the turn of
the year, we start again with our first events. ---- In January we start on
Wednesday, January 12th. at 6 p.m. with our new open reading group. We will meet
for this in the radical cafeteria (this can be found at Weserstraße 212 in
Berlin-Neukölln, near U-Bhf Hermannplatz). ---- The first book we start with is
"Are prisons obsolete?" / "A society without prisons?" By Angela Davis. For the
first meeting we want to read chapters 1 & 2 (pages 7 - 39) in preparation and
then discuss them and exchange ideas about the content / ideas from the two chapters.
Our open anarchist discussion meeting is also going into the second round. We
meet on Wednesday, January 19th. at 6 p.m. in the b-location (Mareschstrasse 1 in
Berlin-Neukölln, near S-Bahn station Sonnenallee).
The topic will be "We anarchists and the pandemic - How did we (not) react to
Corona and the measures?" We want to discuss how we behaved as anarchists in the
pandemic. What worked well and what went bad? How can and do we want to deal with
Corona in the future? How do we position ourselves on authoritarian state
measures? Where do we locate ourselves between scientific recommendations and
personal freedoms? How do we position ourselves on mandatory vaccination, 2G, 3G
and co? And which regulations do we want for emancipatory spaces so that neither
people from the risk group nor marginalized people are excluded? And how would we
deal with a pandemic in a liberated society?
There are two optional texts to prepare for the meeting:
1. "The system remains the crisis" , a text we (Anarchist collective
Glitzerkatapult) wrote about a year ago
2. "The failure of the left in a state of emergency" , a text by Elany (Black
Arrow Collective), another represents an anarchist point of view
We would be very happy if you came by and talked to us. Even if you should
consider joining us or if you are interested in our work, this is a good
opportunity to get to know us.
Please come to both events fully vaccinated or recovered (applies to both the
radicalcker café and the b-lage) and also take an up-to-date test.
We know that this can also exclude people, but so that, for example, people with
increased risk can come and we can feel as safe as possible together, this is a
request from us.
We look forward to you!
