(en) Greece, APO, land & freedom: Student struggles: Exchange of experiences and continuation of struggle Event [machine translation]

Date Fri, 28 May 2021 08:33:43 +0300

Event of exchange of experiences for the student struggles and their continuation in Athens and Thessaloniki. The event will take place on the afternoon of Friday 21 May 2021 in Athens. ---- Republished from the page of the Anarchist Student Assembly / three Quieta Movere ---- Four months of struggles, rallies, squats, demonstrations and various actions seem like a big part of the student movement that has developed since the beginning of the year. Our resistance to date has not succeeded in overturning law 4777, although very important steps have been taken. Typical examples are the mass marches that managed to repel the police forces and even more importantly the prevention of the entry of the police forces on April 15 as a result of all forms of action within the student movement. As students who participate in the processes of student associations and in open framework initiatives, we understand the need for nationwide characteristics of a dynamic student movement.

Our rallying point was to a large extent the submission of the Kerameos-Chrysochoidis bill as another part of the educational restructuring following the Gavroglou law of the SYRIZA government. A full-scale attack on the achievements of the student and class struggles, characterized by the intensification of studies and the installation of repressive mechanisms within the university to ensure the expansion of state and capital sovereignty. An important part was the first occupation of the rectory since through it a large part of the student associations was activated and the basic procedures were massified, breaking assignment procedures and hierarchies within the student associations themselves. A remarkable means of struggle, apart from the occupation and the weekly demonstrations, was the re-appropriation of the campus, which together with the occupied schools was a meeting point and a struggle. From the assemblies, to the political and cultural events, the entertainment events, the distributions in the center of the city, the participation in other social struggles such as the hunger strike of D.K., the health marches and the marches in various neighborhoods of Thessaloniki. the true value of asylum beyond sterile academicism. Undoubtedly, the pandemic was an opportunity for the state to announce and pass a series of bills that change the post-government example such as the new anti-labor bill. Therefore, resistance to the completely class management of the pandemic is a part of our struggles.

In order to upgrade our means of struggle and our political discourse, to reflect on the mistakes and to make our course, so far, our course, it is therefore necessary to exchange experiences nationwide, in parallel with the creation of comradely relations that will function as preparation for a more comprehensive effort to coordinate actions between different cities.

In this climate, a first contact of the Athens-Thessaloniki student movement is invited through the planned event-discussion: "Exchange of experiences for the student struggles and their continuation in Athens and Thessaloniki" on 21/05 at 16:00 at Lower Polytechnic
