Kia ora and welcome to the sixty seventh Auckland activist fortnightly newsletter! You can get the latest updates on COVID-19 in Aotearoa here: https://covid19.govt.nz/ ---- Here at Tamaki Makaurau Anarchists, we'll be holding two events in June. The first will be another Really Really Free Market on Sunday 13 June from 1pm at Cox's Bay Pavilion Hall, where you can bring along things to gift and take home what you'd like. ---- The second event we'll be organising in June will be People Without Faces: Zapatista Movie Night on Saturday 19 June from 6pm at 473 Dominion Road, where we'll be screening the People Without Faces documentary about the Zapatistas, have a guess speaker, show a gallery of images from Chiapas and provide zines about the Zapatistas. We hope to see you there!

There will also be a range of other events happening at the end of May and throughout June. These include Sign the Petition to Close the Israeli Embassy in New Zealand from Thursday 20 May to Thursday 3 June from 9pm online, Trans Online Support Group every Tuesday from 4 May to Tuesday 30 November from 5pm online via Zoom, Timebank Central Auckland Community Visioning on Sunday 30 May from 12pm at 421-425 Mount Eden Road, Week of Action for IVS Crimson Creek on Monday 31 May from 9pm online, Protest the Silver Collar Greyhound Race on Sunday 13 June from 12pm at the corner of Te Irirangi Drive and Diorella Drive, Polynesian Panther Party 50th Anniversary Celebration from Wednesday 16 June to Saturday 19 June from 6pm at Auckland University of Technology and the Somali Independence Day Celebration on Thursday 1 July from 7pm at Ficking Convention Centre.

Whether it's petitions, online support groups, weeks of action, protests, educational events, Really Really Free Markets and celebrations, there's lots happening in the rest of May and throughout June, so get out there!

Week of Action for IVS Crimson Creek, online
A shipment of blood phosphate stolen from the occupied territory of Western Sahara is scheduled to arrive in Tauranga on the 1st of June. Join people across Aotearoa and tell Ballance to stop profiting from the occupation. In the weeks and days leading up to the arrival of the latest shipment of blood phosphate, we ask you to paint your hands red and share your red handprint photos across social media. You may also want to take your message to Ballance or Ravensdown sites across the country. Be in touch if you would like to access poster/sticker or brochure designs to help get your message across. Protest the Silver Collar Greyhound Race, corner of Te Irirangi Drive and Diorella Drive, Manukau
Join Direct Animal Action in peaceful protest outside the Silver Collar Greyhound Race. To oppose the cruel Silver Collar Race and to stand united for a ban on greyhound racing. Direct Animal Action will supply all placards and banners - so just bring yourselves and some friends! Free.

Really Really Free Market, Cox's Bay Pavillion Hall
The Really Really Free Market (RRFM) movement aims to counteract capitalism by creating a positive example to challenge what we view as the myths of scarcity and competition. Based on the attitude of 'Give what you have, Take what you need,' everything at the "stalls" is free. Feel free to bring along things to gift (please no broken or dirty items). Items such as clothing, books, toys, sports gear, kitchenware, are welcome (this list is non-exhaustive). Then take home what you'd like. This is a Family Friendly event! Dogs are welcome to attend but must be on leash at all times. Free.

Polynesian Panther Party 50th Anniversary Celebration, Auckland University of Technology
A three-day celebration of the foundation of the Polynesian Panthers. The celebration will include a panel discussion with the Polynesian Panther Party, an exhibition of revolutionary art, a symposium with spaces to talanoa, and a live musical performance. Ticket purchase required.

People Without Faces: Zapatista Movie Night, 473 Dominion Road
A screening of People Without Faces, which is a short one hour doco on the Zapatistas. With a guest speaker at the beginning to give a bit of context, a small gallery of images from Chiapas and Zapatista art and possibly some zines on the Zapatistas. Free.
