(en) Greece, rocinante: The cops did not enter the schools on April 15, we will not let them enter either in September or ever [machine translation]
Date

For another Thursday, students stood on the embankment of the
Kerameos-Chrysochoidis law. With the slogan "the cops are out of our schools"
they protected the asylum from the rage of the State and the police by holding
mass demonstrations and rallies. ---- The day before the general rallies, the
Deputy Minister of Education, Angelos Syrigos, was forced in front of the whole
wave of resistance by the students to "remind" them that the police forces will
enter whenever the law stipulates, ie at the end of September. . With this
statement, the decision of Chrysochoidis to enter the cops in the first fortnight
of April is revoked and one Ministry is trying to collect the other's uncollected.
With ironic style and excessive audacity, Syrigos characterized the struggle of
the students / three who proceed to squatting as a "revolutionary gymnastics"
which is in fact out of date. Of course, these statements about "revolutionary
gymnastics" and the timeliness of the students' / three's struggle against the
police force can only apply to the head of Syrigos and the other ridiculous
people of the far-right government. In reality, however, yesterday, mainly in
Athens and Thessaloniki, but also in several other cities in Greece, mass
demonstrations were organized with the presence of blocs of student associations,
teachers' associations, occupied rectory and generally thousands of people.
Of course, despite the retreat of the State on the issue of the immediate entry
of OPPI in universities, the mood for repression of the student movement remained
evident. In Athens, yesterday's mobilization was marked by the strong presence of
MAT from Omonia to ASOEE, where the crowd was chased and drowned in tears. This
was followed by the blockade of the ASOEE university where the repressive forces
trapped students in their attempt to hold a rally inside the university premises.
At the same time, in Thessaloniki, the reoccupation of the AUTh Rector's Office
has managed to escalate the struggle.
The postponement of the entry of the cops in the schools is a first victory for
the student movement but the struggle continues both inside and outside our
schools. The student movement must continue the struggle it gives and escalate it
even more, the students to organize in our student associations and to mass the
general assemblies of the next period. Students to put the interests and needs of
our class first, to unite with teachers, students and employees and through the
general assemblies to make competitive decisions so that we do not let any cop
ever enter our schools , not to allow the State to attack and threaten us and to
end once and for all with the police democracy.
The cops are out of the schools
Not a single student expulsion
No installation of cameras and face control in schools
No establishment of a Minimum Admission Base, no study limit
The Kerameos-Chrysochoidis law to be overturned
No exclusion from education
Down with the disciplines
