(en) Spain, Barcelona: Days of Anarcofeministas [machine translation]

Date Thu, 25 Feb 2010 11:24:42 +0200

One Hundred Years of CNT ---- Martha Ackelsberg, Ana Sigüenza, Antonia Rodrigo, Juan Julio Guzman Colectivo de Colombia, Mujeres Libres ... are among the featured speakers at a conference on feminism and anarchism CNT organized for next March in Barcelona. ---- This year 2010, CNT celebrates 100 years after his birth in a context very different from today. For this reason, we would analyze and reflect on the path that has led this class union throughout history and see what role it plays today. There is no doubt that people who have formed CNT have been, mostly, women and men with critical thinking, sometimes very advanced for its time, and there have been times where CNT played a vital role as social revolution was in 1936. And today we ask ourselves as projected its positioning as a union that fights all forms of authority, and especially against something as important as patriarchy, which along with capitalism, inhibit the freedom of living much and destroy the planet.

So these days arise from the need for several women members of CNT, to visualize the vital role that women play in the anarchist movement, to reflect on the connection between anarchism and feminism, to challenge traditional gender roles, female and male , which is based on patriarchy.

The Conference on Women and Anarchism, is presented as an opportunity to get closer to the realities of female militancy. We intend to analyze, discuss and highlight the participation and organization of women who identify with libertarian principles and not give up their gender identity. We want to see the problems that affect us as women in various areas where we operate: labor, educational, organizational, health, emotional, and so on. Problems arising from a patriarchal and capitalist society such as ours that affect us and affect our / as peers.

To this end, we will try to dimension two levels: a level corresponds to our own situation as women workers and union activists in a class, revolutionary and libertarian, covering the historical perspective and the needs that we see today. The second level is a feminist women's participation in various organizations that seek to contribute to social change. We are interested in making visible these daily struggles, projects that result, the difficulties and contradictions that we submit. We also work on these aspects by collecting multiple experiences that occurred in the past and others that are played today across the globe.

To try to cover these objectives, we have organized five axes:

1. Women, work and union.
2. A historical reference: Mujeres Libres.
3. Anarcho-feminism: women organized.
4. Women in the press and propaganda of the idea.
5. Sexual diversity and anarchism.

Each and Everyone is welcome / you to participate in this, our / your reflection to try to be ever closer to achieving our / your utopian society.

That thought into action.
