In the modern political climate there is much talk about the
supposed balance between freedom and security. We are
constantly bombarded with the media's veiled threats regarding
the elusive "next attack." We are made to believe that we must
accept that hordes of evil-doers who hate freedom are lurking
around the corner, willing to risk it all in order to destroy a little
more of our freedom. Ironically, in order to protect ourselves from this
mythical threat and safeguard freedom, the people of America are more
than willing to allow the rapid increase of the powers of the State,
which in turn only facilitates the annihilation of freedom.

With the imminent invasion of the Democratic National
Convention upon Bostonian soil, the people of Boston have
begun to see their fair city manifested into a full-scale police
state. Checkpoints will be erected upon our public transportation
entrances. Random searches will be executed upon our subways.
The good people of this revolutionary city will be expected to roll
over and play dead while the rich DNC invaders lavish
themselves in luxury and bathe in the blood of the workers.

For those who attempt to challenge the State's monopoly of force
and take to the streets to exercise their rights and express their
dissent, the DNC has another surprise coming. Under the guise
of "national security" and the "balance of freedom and security,"
Bostonians and their allies will be herded like sheep into walled

The Bl(A)ck Tea Society has already called for a boycott of the
"Free Speech Zone" ( http://blackteasociety.org/calls/fsz.php ). In
light of recent events, we are reaffirming that boycott. The FSZ
now is covered entirely on the top with mesh netting and
surrounded by razor wire. One construction worker who was
building the FSZ complained that he felt like he was constructing
an internment camp. Freedom must not be interned!

The Bl(a)ck Tea Society recently was a plaintiff in a case to
change the conditions of the FSZ as well as the soft Zone. We
lost our case and are now appealing. However, due to the
conditions that currently exist, the Bl(A)ck Tea Society is also
now calling for a boycott of the Soft Zone. The conditions that
had previously made the Soft Zone "soft" are no longer valid.
Only four entrances to the Soft Zone are present. The fence
surrounding the Soft Zone is eight feet height. Armed thugs will
protect the entrances, and anyone with a "large" bag or
"suspicious" clothing will be searched. Police reserve the power
to search smaller bags if they claim to have reasonable suspicion.
No signs with sticks, flagpoles, etc. will be allowed in the Soft
Zone. The same conditioned outlined in the Call to Boycott the
Free Speech Zone are now also valid in regards to the Soft Zone.

The DNC invaders are failing to abide by the Constitution of the
United States of America. The Bill of Rights still stands. Boston
still is in America. The actions of the State are illegal, unjust, and
unfounded. The occupation of Bostonian soil will not be
tolerated. In Boston, we still recognize the Bill of Rights, even if
our invaders do not.

The Bl(A)ck Tea Society calls upon the people of Boston and
their allies to defend this revolutionary city. Do not enter any pen.
Do not pass through any checkpoint. Do not consent to any
search. Do not ratify the State's ability to erode the Bill of Rights.
Defend Boston, defend the Bill of Rights, and Reclaim the

See you in the streets.
