The platforma.front.ru website was launched recently in Russia. At
present the site is the project of an individual (who is also a member
of Autonomous Action) and is designed to stimulate debate within the
Russian anarchist and left libertarian movement, with particular
emphasis on organization, theory and practical matter. Though not
totally in agreement with the "Organizational Platform", the author of
the site believes it can provide a good starting point for debate and
hopes that the project can develop in time into the creation of a left
libertarian organization based on a revision of "classical" dogmatic anarchism.
Here is a translation of a presentation of the site taken from Indymdeia Russia.

PLATFORMA.FRONT.RU - the site, dedicated to theoretical and applied
questions of the libertarian movement in Russia. The purpose of the
project? To provoke discussion, to revive theoretical research, and in
the long term, to contribute to the formulation of a positive,
adequately realistic programme of revolutionary action.

For many years now in Russian anarchist circles, there has been no end
to disputes about the fate of the movement, its purposes, tasks and
intellectual orientators. Some of these disputes are fundamental,
others (more importantly) concern political and organizational

The discussions were initially related to the "eternal" controversy
between "left" and "right" anarchists, "culture bearers" and
insurgents. These disputes, passing through the entire history of
anarchism, have a very modest practical value. They are no more than
"mental gymnastics", since there is and can be nothing in common
between "anarcho-capitalism" and libertarian communism, between
"mystical anarchism" and the working class movement.

Then there are the disputes between comrades, within a more or less
generally left-libertarian framework. These are the disputes where
views find their basis, where reasons are sharpened, where the weapon
of social war is forged. And it is specifically for this - urgent -
discussion that our project has been designed.

It could be objected that disputes - frequently destructive - are
carried on in any event and so there is no need for them to be kindled
artificially. This is true. However, the problem is not in the fact
that there are disputes (and in fact their absence would be strange),
but in the fact that they allow the libertarian movement to develops.

In contemporary Russian anarchism there is a clash of views, but there
is no open fight between tendencies. Everything is too amorphous, it is
diffuse and chaotic. As a rule, the most significant discussions do not
exceed the scope of particular correspondence or argument within closed
circles. The level of these discussions is usually low, and little more
than bickering.

Taking into account the absence of a theoretical organ, it is
absolutely no wonder that today's Russian anarchism is in a state of
intellectual stagnation.

In order to "banish" disease, it is first necessary to determine its
nature and symptoms. The pale infirmity of Russian anarchism (and not
only it, however, but also of the left as a whole) is caused by the
continuance of social stagnation. Russia's recent history has not
developed at all with any anarchist input - only increasing
authoritarianism. The "people are silent", while members of the
"people's movement" despair of the severe reality. [...]
