Wobblies (IWW - Industrial Workers) were assigned an inside table at Milwaukee's
Laborfest this year, which was kind of a drag because the wonderful "wobbly
wheel of union history" wasn't able to be spun. And that was quite a bummer
because last year a LOT of people played It was a fun way to learn a ton of
stuff about labor history. Things about Afscme, CIO, MTC and AFofL that I bet
stewards and bosses didn't even know. Anyhew, because it was an inside location
people needed to move from table to table instead of gather up to spin the wheel
and learn, so that just didn't happen.
But other than that, and one wobbly getting her pant leg stuck in a tandem bike
chain during the parade, everything was great. It was a really fun, laid back,
chill and enjoyable parade yesterday.

Here's some pics I took with my cheapo digital minicam.

I hope other people who got better resolution pics can upload some of theirs
real soon too.

ps: oh, housekeeping note. http://www.stlimc.org is down again all weekend. And
since they host mke imc we're down too until whenever they go back up. No rest
for the weary, eh? No fun!

pps: you'll see by some of the pictures that our bikeriding in the parade was
rather chaotic. Yup. It was lackadaisical and kinda fun. Truer to our anarchic
wobbly ways than just about anything else we've done locally.

oh yeah, very last pps: I promise. The people all dressed in black are National
Lawyers Guild. The order that parade marshalls put us in was NLG, Wobbs,
Teamsters. I'm trying to figure out if that has any extra symbolic meaning or
something
