A good meeting. About 40 people attended. I. and R. gave brief introductions to
the network and its aims followed by 45mins of questions and comments. Everyone
seemed supportive of the idea and the need for AWN. It was good to see a number
of SF members there, although I am not sure there were any representatives from
the other national feds. I. strongly made the point that AWN will stand or
fall by the ability of anarchists to link up in their unions and/or workplaces.
People also seemed up for sharing information and experiences.
Some suggestions for next steps:
1. Arrange regional meetings. I'll sort one for London.
2. AWN leaflets to go out with a future issue of Freedom (anyone in London
willing to help stuff envelopes).
3. Do some more publicity.
4. Knock some ideas around for Mayday: protest, action, stunt, join TU marches
whatever.
5. Sort out membership list.
6. Aim to stick a Bulletin together - not everyone is on the web!
