[Report of an anarchist who had participated in
anti-war action in Izmir on 19th of October, Sunday]
we [anarchists] have participated in 'anti war' action
with low density. as we have learned about it 2 days
ago, we were very unprepared. part of the action we
could participate was a disgrace. in fact we just
entered and suddenly left the square. because a group
i thought to be from Emep ["Party of Labor" - a
Marxist party] and another one [leftist] terribly
fought with each other. some people from emep were
trying to broke up the fight. most of the comrades'
opinion was that it would be better to leave the
square and we have left the square. there was
everything in the square except being
'against the war'.

after the demo some places ( i think emek culture
center etc. ) were raided by the police. as i could
learn last night, some were taken in custody
in anti terror department. also as it was written in
yesterday's yeni asir ( a regional newspaper which is
published in agea ) dehap [a Kurdish nationalist /
reformist socialist party] people attacked a traffic
police and related with that there were clashes and
arrests.
