A new magazine from Lyons! First issue of "Mélanges d'histoires libertaires" out.
The Centre de Documentation Libertaire, which is housed in the
premises of the La Gryffe bookshop but run by a different
collective, has brought out a new magazine: "Mélanges
d'histoires libertaires" (28 pages, A4 size, 2 Euro). Pending a
more complete presentation, here is a brief introduction and a summary of the first issue.
The Centre de Documentation Libertaire (CDL) was founded in the
'70s to promote reading on a grassroots level. Today, it is more
specifically oriented towards anarchism: to ensure the
conservation of a heritage starting with the material already in
its possession (archives, books, periodicals, posters etc.) and
to make the most of this material in order to encourage
reflection and libertarian practices today through public events
(such as exhibitions, video projections etc) and editorial
activity (notably "L'Anarcho-documentaliste", an irregular free
bulletin). The issue of a special book enters within the
framework of this step. It intends to contribute by considering
scientific work (university or other) drawing on the libertarian
movement and experiences and to make them available in an
abridged form.

We would like to thank the authors and appeal to anyone who may
have carried out similar work to send it to us so that it can be
more easily consulted and perhaps be included in a forthcoming
issue of "Mélanges d'histoire libertaires".

Summary:

- History of a French anarcho-syndicalist current: the CNT from
1945 to 1995
- Human regeneration and libertarian education, the influence of
French neo-Malthusianism on libertarian pedagogical experiences
before 1914.
- José Sanchez Rosa (1864-1936). A Life in the History of
Anarchism.
- The libertarian movement in Lyons, 1964-1974
- Occupation, legalization... la Duende
- La Gryffe bookshop, or Subversion as a social link
- Aux Tables Rabattues: study of a Lyonnaise alternative
experience (1977-1981)
