[Anti-WTO organizers in Montreal held their second organizing assembly
last week. Again, over 50 people attended the meeting, including many
newcomers. Various committees are now active, including mobilization and
popular education, media, logistics and more. This e-mail includes some
important updates, including details about the No One Is Illegal March on
July 27 in Montreal.]
> 1) ANTI-WTO ACTION SPOKESCOUNCIL -- June 22, 2003, 10:30am-5pm
The Montreal Anti-Capitalist Coalition Against the FTAA, as well the
Mobilization Against the WTO, are co-organizing an anti-FTAA/WTO Consulta
on June 21-22 in Montreal (this weekend!!) at UQAM. Detailed information
will follow in a separate e-mail. The second day of the Consulta will be
an Action Spokescouncil, focussed on plans for direct action in Montreal
against the WTO Mini-Ministerial between July 28-30. Affinity group
delegates are encouraged to attend this spokescouncil, which will
determine the direct action efforts against the WTO. To register for the

2) NEXT ORGANIZING ASSEMBLY IN MONTREAL -- June 23, 2003, 6:30pm

The next organizing assembly against the WTO will be on MONDAY, June 23 at
6:30pm (sharp!). The assembly will take place at L'X, 182 Ste-Catherine
East, between metros St-Laurent and Berri-UQAM. Childcare is available
(please e-mail resisteomc@resist.ca in advance, or phone 514-409-2049).
Translation is also available into English and French. For more info,

3) NO ONE IS ILLEGAL DEMONSTRATION DETAILS -- July 27, 2003, 1pm

At the last organizing assembly, details were confirmed for the No One Is
Illegal March Against the WTO.

The child-friendly No One Is Illegal March will take place on July 27,
2003, on the eve of the WTO mini-ministerial meetings. The march will
assemble at 1pm around the Norman Bethune Statue (corner of Guy and
deMaisonneuve, metro Guy-Concordia).

The No One Is Illegal March will focus on the struggles of indigenous
peoples, immigrants and refugees, underlining the links between the WTO
agenda to war, occupation and displacement, as well as genocide of
indigenous peoples.

A special organizing meeting focussing on the No One Is Illegal march will
be held on June 28 in Montreal. Please contact resisteomc@resist.ca for
more details, or to help.
