> SOLIDARITY PICKET Sunday June 8th, Noon Meet at : Métro Place d'Armes
For months, the 360 employees of La Société du
Vieux-Port, many of whom, but not all, are young
students, have been asking for pay raises and more job
security. During a 48 hour strike for recognition of
their demands, their bosses at La Société du
Vieux-Port decided to lock them out. Locked-out since
the 25th of May, the employees of the Old Port,
members of unions 1033 and 1-A-333 of CUPE, are now
victims of injunctions from the court that are making
an efficient picketing of the site impossible.

The court has imposed a limit of 6 picketers per
entrance to the site. This has had the effect of
calming the lines that were beforehand very noisy and
energetic. When the lock-out started, it wasn't
unusual to see 25-30 picketers occupy an entrance(and
this at multiple entrances), having their presence
felt strongly throughout the Old Port despite some
police harassement.

Plus, locked-out employees are also being harrassed
and repressed by a Private Security Force, hired by La
Société du Vieux-Port to prevent union members to
access the site (wich is still partially open with
IMAX and Le Cirque du Soleil still running)

La Société du Vieux-Port thinks it can get away with
everything! Locking-out employees while trying to
continue to operate a tourist site in peace and
harmony! This is nonsense...

WE CAN CHANGE THE SITUATION!

Yes! While the union members aren't allowed to be more
than 6 on a picket line, we, supporters of the
struggle, can be as many as we want!

While the union memers can't enter the site, we,
supporters of the struggle, can all we want to!

We'll show the small-time boss administrators of La
Société du Vieux-Port that they can't lock-out workers
without paying the price. We'll show the court that
picket lines can still be disruptive and that their
injunction has for us no function!

Sunday June 8th at Noon, we invite you to assemble
with us at Place d'Armes métro stop. Then, we will go
to the Old Port for a solidarity picket with the
locked-out employees.

AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL!
