In a delirant report, the Prossecution asks for 3 years prison
condemnation for each, for activies in the information picket during the
General Strike of 20th June 2002. Next Monday, 14th July, at 10:40 a.m.
will be held the trial in the 'Juzgado de lo Penal nş 3 from Valladolid
(C/ de las Angustias)' against the C.G.T. delegates and one from CC.OO.,
from IVECO, an initiative of those workers from the mentioned enterprise
who went to work in spite of the call for a general strike. The so-called
facts that our militants are accused of, occured during the 20th June 2002
general strike, when they were part of an inforamtion picket at the door
of the enterprise. One of the workers denounces that when he was going to
work someone spayed ink in his coat; another one denounces that he
suffered various damages in his car when he came back from work.
Independently of whether the version of the facts from the accusation
is in agreement with what really happened or not, it is -in any case-
minor offenses that cannot justify the proposal for such condemnations,
both by the prived accusation and the public prossecutor. The later asks
for up to 6 years prison, the triple of what the prived accusation asks
for!
In this instance, we from CGT, have to enhance that the prossecution makes
a petition, in a delirant report, which reflects the almost militant
aggressivity against union organisations; a war spirit that is even more
significant if one makes the comparision with other situations in which
the prossecution "restrains itself" when there are much more serious
motives to act given the serious consequences of the offenses. We are
talking, for instance, of the workplace accidents qualified as very
serious. We consider it is, again and again, an attempt to make us fearfull and to
desist from protesting. We all know and recall that the Partido Popular
government made a huge publicity campaign against the general strike,
going as further as to deny afterwards the evidence that it was followed
by the majority. It is not surprizing, then, the Prossecution Office is
following political instructions(we are becoming allways more used to
it)and that what is now attemptedd is to punish again the dissident, the
social answer. For this reason C.G.T. calls for this day, 14th July at 10:30 a.m., a
concentration in solidarity with the accused at the door of the Justice
Hall. For further information call us to the Union: 983 399148 and 983 391139
