Behind the slogans, behind the basic themes, the authoritarian
spirit always comes out. The umpteenth indescribable action of
stalinist aggression on the part of the so-called
"disobbedienti" has now struck a comrade of the Federation of
Anarchist Communists, a member of the Circolo Zapata who has
always been deeply involved in the area where he lives and
works, alongside and within the migrants' associations. It
happened during an initiative which was planned following the
squadrista-like attack by the forces of order in Pordenone a few
days ago.

The attack on our comrade, too, bore the hallmarks of fascism,
however "red" it may be. In an attempt to take advantage of a
serious local situation, the attackers think they can
ideologically conquer any territory they wish, ignoring in the
meanwhile those comrades who are already politically active in
the area, through methods which have already been experimented
elsewhere. Criticism and contestation are not comfortable ground
for the "disobbedienti", who believe, keeping one foot on each
side of the fence, that they can present themselves anywhere as
part of the movement and as the future leader class of a united
and pro-active left. It is easy for them to blame other parts of
the movement for being violent and thereby damage their
legitimacy, when they themselves believe they can count on a
climate of impunity so much so that they can react violently to
a bit of whistling.

We are by now used to the distortion whereby the media act as
accomplices of these people, immortalizing pretended events of
contestation which are stage-managed down to the last dot. Those
who consider themselves the stars of the movement end up like
Pezzotta, launching accusations of terrorism and even physically
striking out against anyone who dares question them, even
verbally. These actions, far from being episodic, serve to
remind us really who these people are. They are light years from
antiauthoritarian, self-managing practice though they show off
libertarian credentials and slogans both outside and inside the
movement, trusting that unspeakable acts like this one will go
mostly unheard.

The Federation of Anarchist Communists expresses its maximum
solidarity with the comrades of the Zapata, who are all victims
of this attack and who, we are sure, will not allow themselves
to be intimidated by such violent, stalinist methods.
