Dear Editor:

Facing the recent wave of arrests of young libertarians in Valencia,
Barcelona and Almeria and that, according to police sources, will continue
in the future, we manifest our unease, and why not confess it, our fear.

A libertarian culture present throughout the history of the people of the
Iberian peninsula has encouraged the best years of our democracy and today
is on the front line of those who say that another world, different from
war, ecological devastation, poverty and the loss of the meaning of life is
possible; it is affirmed with vigour and energy and sometimes facing a
exaggerated police violence from these same police that we do not see acting
against the reiterated violence of the system on the citizenship. It scares
us to think that the State of Rights in the 21st century is not able to
offer other answers to the problems that burden the societies apart from
discharging the entire weight of its violence against those who dare to
dream of a reality different from the present. We cannot allow that
libertarian principles be criminalized with the immediate accusation of
belonging to an armed band, as is currently happening with frequency.

It is frightening when the damages caused by graffiti on a wall can be
qualified as an act of terrorism instead of the continuous collective
debasement that the mass  media systematically, profitably and fully inflict
on the public opinion with the most stupid and degrading features of
humanity. Or, worse yet, that no Court of Justice has taken on the
responsibility of investigating the possible crimes against the criminal
code perpetrated by some rulers that are apparently deciding to participate
in a war (to be precise: in a genocidist military attack against a nation of
people) in clear violation of the division of powers consecrated in the
Constitution.

Once again the nightmare of solitary confinement during 72 hours and the
effects that that has in breaking one's willpower, smashing one's dignity
and  forcing one to accept responsibilities that under normal conditions no
person would accept. Recently we have witnessed with shame that a Court has
had to reprimand the authorities of the Ministry of the Interior for the
unjustified time it took to answer the Court's question if the element
(laundry detergent) found in a raid was dangerous or not.

Will this climate of fear and police persecution against those who dare to
imagine and behave differently from the established behaviour produced by
the industry of consent continue? If that is the case, then please resend
our data to the pertinent police body because with all security we deserve
to be on their list.
