Over the past several months, the Resist! Collective in Vancouver, BC
has been working on getting a new internet server up and running for
the use of radical and grassroots activists locally and internationally.
We are proud to finally announce that resist.ca is ready to serve the
communication needs of the activist community. Our services and webpages
have been completely overhauled in the past few weeks - if you haven't
seen http://resist.ca lately, check it out!"

We are now able to provide email, mailing lists, web space, domain
hosting, secure internet live conferencing (silc), news services,
activist calendars and organizational listings. Other services will be provided
over time as demand requires and as resources are available.

To get an account on resist.ca, please go to https://new.resist.ca and
fill out the application form.

Resist.ca is founded on the principles of mutual aid. We are currently
asking folks to make a minumum contribution of $20 or 4 hours of your
time a year if at all possible to help us keep these services running.
We recognize that not everyone is able to do this and we are committed
to serving those unable to contribute.

More About the resist.ca Project:

Resist.ca is a project the Resist! Collective.

We are committed to providing communications infrastructure resources
to those who we identify as allies in the struggle against capitalism
and for a better world. The Resist.ca project came out of the
Vancouver-area TAO collective which has now been disbanded. The Resist!
Collective emerged out of TAO-Vancouver and still maintains connections
to other TAO locals and workers.

Resist.ca exists to provide a communications space for radical and
grassroots activists. We do not guarantee absolutely secure
communications - but we have tried to set up services in such a way
that some of the dominant e-security concerns are addressed. To that
end, there are no ftp, telnet, or irc connections accepted by this
server, and user accounts are distributed based on organizational
affiliation and a trust model that is still being developed. Services
that we provide include ssh, ssl, silc, spop, scp and webdav - all of
which use encryption protocols to connect to email, webspace and
databases.

In addition, members of the Resist! collective exercise discretion and
security in their work as system administrators and as activists, and
are committed to working with similar organizations in order to further
strengthen active communities as a whole.

Resist.ca is founded on the principles of mutual aid. It takes money
and labour to maintain the hosting services, the hardware and the
domain names etc. If you would like to donate to us, please do so
either by mailing a cheque or money order made out to Resist
Communications to 312-1707 Charles Street, Vancouver BC, V5L 2T6 - or
by depositing money directly into our credit union account at CCEC
(2250 Commercial Dr. acount # 7819-6). Please mark the deposit or cheque
 - - Resist.ca so that we know you want the money to go towards the
Resist project and not something else.

If you wish to communicate with us using PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), you
can find our key at http://resist.ca/special/key which is used by the
resist@resist.ca and admin@resist.ca accounts. Please be sure to
include your public key for us if you wish a response to be encrypted
back to you.

The resist.ca project is motivated by our commitment to struggle and we
are dedicated to providing the communities in which we work secure and
reliable assistance whenever possible.
