October 11th there will be a confrontation in Denver, Colorado. It will be yet another
act of resistance against Colonialization in the western hemisphere. We are calling
for a convergence of radicals from the western united states, and indeed, from all
places, to participate. Columbus Day had it's beginnings in Colorado, being celebrated
first in 1905. AIM (The American Indian Movement) started a campaigning in 1989 to
stop the parade, which escalated until, in 1992, the parade was canceled due to
resistance in the streets. For 7 years there was no parade. Then in 2000 this travesty
was resurrected, in 2001, the parade was a failure, due to many factors. last year,
2002, saw the parade go on, despite disruptions and resistance. We must stop this racist
celebration of Columbus Day this Year!

True Allies
After a winter and spring of working with (mostly) white liberal peace activists,
radicals can now more fully appreciate our real allies. As opposed to liberals,
who believe things will be great once they get Clinton back in office, indigenous
people have had their lands stolen, their cultures purposely decimated, and at
times have been massacred by both parties. AIM welcomes radical participation
in the struggle against Columbus Day, even
inviting anarchists to march with them from the south, in the 2002 4
directions march. This is in sharp contrast to liberals, who, if they
had their way would rather radicals not
show up to peace marches. In short, indigenous peoples in general,
and AIM in particular, are some of our greatest allies as radicals.
If we, as radicals, can march with ANSWER and the Democrats, we can
sure as hell march with AIM and the All Nations Alliance.

Coming from Cancun, Building towards Miami.
This fall offers a string of convergences that, taken together, could
resurrect the North American anti-globalization movement.

First, the WTO Ministerial in Cancun, September 10th - 14th. This is
the first WTO ministerial in the Americas since Seattle in 1999, and
we all know what happened there...

Then October 9th - 12th in Denver, Colorado. We can unite to end a
celebration of the racism and genocide that this country is built upon.

Finally Florida/Georgia in November. The FTAA meeting is the 19th and
20th in Miami, Florida, with the SOA following the 21st and 22nd at
Fort Benning, Georgia (near Columbus) . these two represent resistance
against Yanqui oppression of Latin America, both economically (FTAA)
and Militarily (SOA).

Taken Together, these 4 events could jump-start and revitalize an ailing
anti-globalization movement in the Americas. This fall could provide
inspiration for a whole new generation of activists, as well as
revitalizing veteran activists suffering from burnout.
CANCUN, DENVER, MIAMI, GEORGIA; Lets reignite resistance in the Americas!!
