The heads of the states are starting to put their brains together for
one of the most important meetings in the history of the FTAA (Free
Trade Area of America’s).  This is likened to NAFTA on Steroids.  NAFTA
has devastated whole communities and the environment.  This is the
corporate wet dream come true.  It lowers or eliminates trade barriers
and tariff’s which affect whole nations.  As a few get rich the vast
majority get poorer.  This event will be held in Miami this year in
November right around the 19th.  It is a little ways off but please plan
to come down to Miami an d show these corporate assholes that their
bullshit will not sustain our planet and will hurt all future
generations too come.

We need to try and take the energy of the anti-war movement and channel
it into a movement that will lead to revolutionary change because just
as the current war is dying down the corporate bosses are still up to no
good and they will not stop there.  We need to look at what kind of
future we actually want and fight for it and realize that yes this is
not just about “feeling” good but it is about winning.  We need to
dismantle all unjustified hierarchal structures, and create a world
based on equality, power from bottom-up, and an economic structure that
actually exists to sustain the environment and not having to have to
fight for reforms all the time, but that is built into the system.

We as anarchist recognize that we need to have a critical lens of
imperialism and neo-liberalism.  That our aim of no borders does not
include exploiting the labor of other countries, but reaching out and
helping our brothers and sisters of the world.  That no matter what form
of government that a said country has that absolute power corrupts
absolutely.  The only power should be power to the people.  The masters
of the FTAA have not consulted with any citizen groups and they hold
their meetings behind closed doors.

The masters of NAFTA had at the beginning said that by creating NAFTA
one of the major benefits would be that it would create 200,000 new jobs
a year.  Once it was under way and the actual numbers came forth and
that untold numbers were actually losing jobs; someone asked about all
of these folks losing their jobs and president Clinton remarked, “we
don’t like playing the number game.”

Please join the anarchist, labor, environmental groups, community
groups, folks from throughout the world, and many others in protest Nov
19th in Miami.
