Over the last weeks the repression has been heavy against
anarchists and activists.
Notably, this week marked the beginning of the final stages of
the jury trials that organizers from the Ontario Coalition
Against Poverty (OCAP) in Toronto and Montreal organizers. In
each case three organizers are facing participation, or
counseling charges in relation to the so-called Queens Park
and G-20 "riots". In both cases the organizers are not being
accused of doing anything extraordinary, or even participating
in the physical resistance against the police attacks. They are
being singled out on indictable charges (equivalent to a felony
for U.S. readers) because they helped organize the
demonstrations. The consequences of a conviction in either case
would be felt by anarchists, activists, and trade unionists for
years to come.
In addition to the OCAP and G-20 trials, the RCMP has raided
homes and workplaces of Native Youth Movement activists in
British Columbia; 5 comrades (one from the Federation of
Revolutionary Anarchist Collectives- Great Lakes Region) were
arrested at an anti-war demonstration in Cleveland, two charged
with felonious assault on a police officer; Overseas in Ireland
at least 19 people are facing prosecution out of the direct
actions at Shannon airport. Including 5 people charged with the
'decommissioning' of a US military transport plane with hammers.
News and commentary on all the above cases is available on the
NEFAC website at:

The website is updated almost daily. Check back often!
