>Editorial
In view of the mobilizations of opposition and resistance to the
G8 summit to be held in Évian (Haute-Savoie) from 1st-3rd June
2003, and also previously at Angers from 25th-27th April
(specifically for environmental questions), various libertarian
and anarcho-syndicalist organizations (Organisation Communiste
Libertaire, Alternative Libertaire, Fédération Anarchiste,
Organisation Socialiste Libertaire, No Pasaran and several
sections of the Confédération Nationale du Travail) have come
together to create Convergence of Anti-Authoritarian and
Anti-Capitalist Struggles Against the G8 - CLAAAC G8!
The CLAAAC G8! intends to develop alternative perspectives to
break with capitalist and authoritarian logic that regulates in
every way the daily life of people on the planet. The objective
is simple: to create an anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian,
anti-patriarchal and revolutionary political and labour pole
that is independent of reformist currents, NGOs or all those who
merely want to humanize capitalism. It is up to us to
distinguish ourselves through our analyses, our practices and
our initiatives in order to prove that libertarians can be a
considerable force in the present context.
In practice, the CLAAAC functions on two levels: a
national/international level in which each organization,
collective or union who signs our call participates in order to
coordinate the campaign in its entirety, and a local level with
the setting up of collectives linked to the CLAAAC which group
various organizations (and individuals who wish to associate
with the CLAAAC) together in one geographical area. These
collectives carry out the campaign on the ground and elaborate
proposals for national coordination meetings. On a local level,
collectives already exist in several cities, departments and
regions.
So, if you want to participate in the mobilization against the
masters of the world, don't hesitate to join a CLAAAC
collective, to order its materials and to participate in its
different initiatives. A second issue of this newspaper should
appear within the next two months in order to update on the
campaign's progress and on the various events and dates of the
mobilization.
