(en) Britain, Anarchist Federation: Solidarity Statement with Anarchists and Anti-Fascists marching throughout France against the murderers of Clément Méric (Thu Jun 20 08:24:17 GMT 2013)
This weekend, Saturday 22rd and Sunday 23th June, will see huge anti-fascist
demonstrations throughout France. The participants will be making known their anger at the
murder of the much loved 18-year old Parisian antifascist student, Clément Méric (see
article below). The message will be ‘Never Forgive, Never Forget’. This comment is not
only about the death of their comrade, but a comment about fascism itself, both as it is
manifested at the moment in France, and as it has manifested itself historically and in
many countries. ---- The attack in which Clément Méric died has shocked people in France
more widely than anarchists and antifascists. But this mainstream response has been
unhelpful in fighting the far-right.

(en) Brazil, Winning the increase in tariffs in the streets, to overcome the reformism in social movements by Coletivo Anarquista Luta de Classe - CALC (pt) [machine translation] (Thu Jun 20 08:17:19 GMT 2013)
The population of at least 28 cities in Brazil took to the streets in recent weeks to
fight the abuses of the ruling classes, which is expressed now in increases in the rate of
public transport. This movement is the result of a dissatisfaction that has already been
developed for a long time, generated by the way the state has been organizing and showing
his true class character: it is with entrepreneurs and not xs trabalhadorxs. -- This
dissatisfaction is not the result of an increase of $ 0.20, $ 0.30 or $ 0.35 worth of bus
fare, but the accumulation of a series of attacks in the state of living conditions / the
workers / as, such as poor access to health care, public transportation precarious (for
both users and working conditions for / to own / the staff / the transport - drivers and
collectors / as), the media manipulates information for the benefit of the state and the

(en) Turkey uprising: There were 20+ assembles in different parks in Istanbul like this (Thu Jun 20 07:22:08 GMT 2013)
report form a neighborhood assembly in Besiktas: "After Taksim, there was a much more
important meeting going on, in the heart of the territory of Carsi (pronounced Charshuh),
the fans of Besiktas who seem to be one of the most important forces in Turkish politics
these days. From 9pm, thousands of mostly young people assembled in and around the
amphitheater in Abbasaga Park under the motto “every park is Gezi” (and under a Turkish
flag…more later) to assess what has happened since the Gezi Park occupation began and
where the movement is going. Hundreds lined up behind the stage to talk for two or three
minutes each, while the assembled crowd signaled agreement and disagreement by waving
their hands or crossing their arms. Unlike Turkish parliament it was an exercise in direct
democracy.

It’s confused many non-anarchists in the Rochester-area, and it would likely confuse many
anarchists not in Rochester Red & Black: A legislative proposal, largely being pushed by
New York’s nearly autocratic Governor and likely being used a cynical ploy for higher
political office has been endorsed by Rochester Red & Black, the local organization of
Anarchist-Communists. I know, it seems almost absurd on its face. So, I’ll explain as one
member of Red & Black, why I voted for this endorsement. ---- For those of you outside of
New York State, the Women’s Equality Agenda is a ten-point program that Governor Andrew
Cuomo put forward in his State of the State address in January.

(en) France, Alternative Libertaire AL #228 - Sciences Po Bordeaux: Offensive masculinist ... and against attack (fr) [machine translation] (Wed Jun 19 10:26:12 GMT 2013)
In Bordeaux, a group was formed against the masculinist mobilization of some students of
the Institute of Political Studies (IEP). He is now being sued by the management of the
institution. ---- It is not good to be a woman and a feminist at IEP Bordeaux. Creating 's
To-Edge , a student association reflection on gender, was definitely the last straw for
some students, who then create, in December 2012, a page on the Facebook social network,
entitled "Dare to men." Their masculinist orientation was clear. It read: " Even within
our walls we are now in the minority! Talk and save your jobs, make use of the
appointment. Parity encloses man in his sexual condition and reduced to a penis. Why
should we sell our place under the pretext of being born with a third member? "For these
high school students, the highest levels of elitism can not be contaminated by gender.

(en) Britain, Edinburgh Anarchist Federation: What does domestic abuse look like? (Wed Jun 19 10:13:10 GMT 2013)
I used to work in a pub in the suburbs. It served food and had ideas above its station,
but it was basically a boozer serving an eclectic mix of people. Retired gentlemen,
teenagers waiting for the bus to town, builders on long lunches. Anyone that lived in the
area would drop in at some point. I was there full-time for a few months, long enough to
outlast 2 managers and one crop of school leavers. --- A woman in her late 30s started to
work there part-time. She didn’t seem to need the money as much as something to do. Her
husband was a regular in the pub and owned a business. They were a solid, respectable,
upper-middle class and successful, married couple. To all appearances. ---- Late one
night, a quiet one that might’ve been a weekday, the husband came in and sat with the
cluster of regulars at their end of the bar.

(en) Canada, linchpin.ca: Short Circuit: Towards an Anarchist Approach to Gentrification (Wed Jun 19 07:21:52 GMT 2013)
I. Defining Gentrification ---- No matter how different the reasons may be, the result is
everywhere the same: the scandalous alleys and lanes disappear to the accompaniment of
lavish self-praise from the bourgeoisie on account of this tremendous success—but they
appear again immediately somewhere else, and often in the immediate neighbourhood. ----
The Housing Question. --- Gentrification, etymologically speaking, is a relatively new
word, coined in 1964 by the English Marxist sociologist Ruth Glass. Conceptually, some
would claim that it has been a feature of urban life for hundreds of years. Between 1853
and 1870, for instance, the Haussmannization of Paris forced thousands of poor people from
the centre of the city, where rents had traditionally been cheaper, to the urban
periphery; these migrations were the forced results of structural changes Baron Haussmann

There are masculinist claimed that display sexist and misogynist postures, as Eric Zemmour
André Gélinas France or Quebec. But others may be more dangerous behind a gender
egalitarian facade ... A brief overview of masculinist ideologies. ---- Some masculinist
groups arise as groups of awareness and reflection. They attempt to define themselves as
masculinist "progressive." Thus the site Hom-info, we learn that the masculinist current
Quebec is a movement of " awareness of the effects on men of stereotypes associated with
masculinity . " Fight against sexism, not nice? Yet a little later we read that "
feminists have hard tested the foundations of what masculinity ": women, these are the
real culprits! ---- Masculinism "egalitarian", and would be the male counterpart of
feminism. Thus, the blog "Vision egalitarian lucid-masculinism," we read that "
