Over 400 people gathered in Brighton on a very wet Wednesday in the latest 
protest called by Smash EDO against local bomb factory EDO MBM/ITT. The last 
demo, in June (See SchNEWS 634), saw protesters invading the factory grounds and 
smashing windows. This time the cops were determined to have an overwhelming 
presence. At noon Sussex University campus was occupied by large gangs of cops

demonstration against the planned oil pipe-line Burgas-Alexandropolis and the

On 7 October 2008 there was an ecological protest in Sofia, Bulgaria -"NOISE for 
the nature". Around 1000 people gathered to protest against the destruction of 
the Nature for profit. There were people from different NGOs, green parties,

Oggi 17 Ottobre gli studenti e le studentesse delle scuole di roma 
hanno partecipato alla giornata di sciopero generale e generalizzato. 
Gli studenti del liceo pasteur (monte mario) e del liceo tacito 
(trionfale) hanno trovato l'ingresso del loro istituto sigillato da 
catene e silicone nelle serrature, e sui muri la scritta "chiudere le 
scuole per scoprire i nostri sogni".
