'Vicdani retçiler tarafından oluşturulan 'Mehmet Tarhan'la Dayanışma 
İnisiyatifi', Tarhan'ın askere gitmeyi ret ettiği için tutuklanmasını, 
yaptıkları yürüyüşle protesto etti. Grup, duyarlı olan herkesi 28 Nisan'da 
Sivas Askeri Mahkemesi'nde yapılacak olan duruşmaya katılmaya çağırdı.

It goes without saying that the choice between Tweedledee and Tweedledum is 
even more unappealing this year than usual. That is probably why the turnout 
in many parts of Britain is likely to be lower than the turnout in parts of 
Iraq in their “election” in January. 
In Iraq many people did not vote for fear of being shot or blown up – in Britain

Shaul: "It was a real scaring. We arrived to Bil'in in two groups. The first 
group of 9 at noon (1:00 pm) The demo start at 1:30PM. Another group of three 
(including me) about 15 minutes later, directly to the mess. All the Israelis 
were dispersed. Part of them fledging from the soldiers, others hiding in a house, 
it was really distressing. The first thing we have seen was a jeep in the middle

Şu anda silah zoruyla tutulduğun Sivas 5. Piyade Eğitim Tugayı Askeri 
cezaevine de gönderebilirdim bu mektubu... O zaman bu zararlı satırlar; 
senin, benim ve mektubu okumakla yükümlü(!) askerler arasında ebedi bir sır 
olarak kalacaktı, kıyamadım doğrusu... Ayrıca azılı bir antimilitarist 
olarak; tersi bir durum yaşasaydık, ben “içerdeki” hapishanede, sen de 
“dışarıdaki” hapishanede bulunsaydın; arkadaşınla arandaki özel bir 
yazışmayı bile akl...

One of the most inspirational things to come out of the 
protests against the Invasion of Iraq and the anti-war 
movement in general, was the nationwide series of 
spontaneous school strikes. Thousands of pupils walked 
out of school on their own initiative when the invasion 
kicked off, and their protests were amongst the most
