Redfern, Palm Island, Macquarie Flats, the script is the same, locals
die as a result of questionable police actions. Local people seething at
past injustices, shocked by the senseless deaths of valued members of
their community, strike back at the police. The fourth estate,
government ministers and the police create a climate that allows them
to temporarily put a lid on this bubbling cauldron. The participants in
the riots are identified, arrested, prosecuted and e...

North jersey is coming alive with ideas, energy, and action aimed at
creating spaces where freedom, equality, truth, dignity, and a sense
of community reign. The past 2 months have spawned at least 5
emerging anti-capitalist anti-authoritarian groups. Right now, if we
come together to share ideas, resources and organizing techniques; we
could walk away with more fortified groups, projects, and collectives,
and possibly get some new ones off the ground.
In a battle between a hammer and a US Warplane I know which side I am on.
The Irish State is to put on trial the Ploughshares activists, Deirdre
Clancy, Nuin Dunlop, Karen Fallon, Damien Moran and Ciaron O_Reilly. On
March the 7th they will face charges on two counts of criminal damage, one
to a US warplane ($2.5Million) and one for a bit of double glazing repairs
to Shannon Airport (E200). They already have spent one month in prison in
Limerick following their arre...

This, the fourth part of our look at the political theories and
movements which have influenced our development, takes in
the last 35 years. It has been a period of great worldwide change
seemingly eclipsed, have been rediscovered.
Super-cool Iceland, the eco-tourist's wet dream, right? Maybe not
for much longer if the Icelandic government has its way.
You see, they've got a cunning plan to turn the whole country into
a heavy industry paradise for all sorts of multinational scum,
damming and flooding and generally trashing nature to power up a
bunch of giant aluminium smelters and other slight blots on the landscape.
This is not an early April fool - it's already started. The
