1. Imperialism is the ability of countries to globally and locally dictate
trade relations with other countries. This means the term can only be
usefully applied to a few countries, in particular those composing the
permanent members of the UN security council and the G8.

2. The policy of these countries in this as in other respects is largely
driven by the major companies based there and not their peoples. Almost
all of the worlds top 200 companies are based ...

1.1 Anarchists know that "the history of all previously existing societies
has been the history of class struggle". At every stage in the development
of society - from ancient times through feudalism to the present day -
there has been an oppressed class whose labour has created the wealth of
society, and a ruling class which controlled that wealth. At almost every
stage the oppressed have not accepted their lot without fighting b...

Although few people may stay in camp more than few
days or one week, every day there have been 20-30
1.1 The Workers Solidarity Movement is a relatively young
organisation, in existence since 1984. As has been pointed out
elsewhere we have no native anarchist tradition to draw on nor
do we have any base in the working class we can call our own.
1.2 This situation should not daunt us. All organisations,
no matter what their aim is, start somewhere. Anarchists
have time and time again, in many countries and in the
most difficult of circumstances grappled with th...
