(en) France, Union Communiste Libertaire UCL - press release, Mutual aid and direct solidarity (fr, it, pt)[machine translation]

In times of crisis, solidarity networks (social, food, etc.) are provided by multiple associations, collectives, or institutions. The people who run these networks are for the most part retired or quite simply confined, the movements and the usual modes of organization upset. It is therefore no longer possible to provide the minimum assistance to the poorest in the current health crisis. ---- This health crisis will first affect the most isolated, distant from health centers, people who are homeless, undocumented, without means of protection against disease. The virus will also first affect the working classes who are still mostly physically at work and therefore more exposed. ---- The fight against the spread of the virus must be part of our struggles. ---- Libertarian communists we cannot leave the most vulnerable to their fate. It is essential to maintain our activities, as much as possible within the local collectives already invested, to relay the needs and emergency situations. Some local UCL groups have already created pages on social networks to coordinate individual and / or collective solidarity actions. Activists participate in the recovery and redistribution of food.

It was also possible, depending on where we live, to display signs in our building halls, on our streets, in local shops, offering links and help between residents. Of course, this is not to minimize the risks of the disease, nor to create conditions for its spread. All the necessary precautions must be taken, regardless of the solidarity action carried out.

This list is obviously not exhaustive, our activist routines and reflexes are challenged and will have to be reinvented daily. Concrete solidarity is not limited to a period of crisis, but it is now essential as one of our first modes of action !

It's up to us to mobilize our revolutionary and self-managing tools ! Beyond barrier gestures, our solidarity is our best protection.

Reminder of certain rules (non-exhaustive list):

Obtain certificates on the honor of leaving having checked "Travel for compelling family reasons, for assistance to vulnerable persons or childcare"
An interaction should not be done within a meter
Use gloves and mask for deliveries
In case of illness, even a cold, no action of physical solidarity
People over 60 can help other than through physical solidarity actions
