(en) France, Union Communiste Libertaire AL #303 - Visa: Light on dark halls, 3 e delivery (fr, it, pt)[machine translation]

Date Sun, 22 Mar 2020 08:50:20 +0200

In 2015, the intersyndicale anti-fascist association Visa published volume 1 of Lumière sur mairies brunes published by Syllepse. Just published in January volume 3 which covers the period 2017-2019: 236 pages and as many arguments against the extreme right. ---- The new volume of Light on brown town halls , published by the association Visa, is full of information on the municipal practices of the far right in power locally, with points common to all mayors: authoritarianism, intimidation and harassment of opponents and opponents, racism, discrimination, anti-social measures, security, clientelism, memory issues ...
This comprehensive work of census and analysis carried out by Visa and its local correspondents, mainly union members, is an exhaustive review of all the facts and misdeeds of the extreme right in the cities it occupies.

Eleven town halls managed by the RN, or the Rassemblement Bleu Marine for Béziers, and four by the Southern League, chaired by the ex-FN Jacques Bompard: Visa regularly publishes online chronicles of what can be practiced in these fifteen cities laboratories of the extreme right since 2014. Hénin-Beaumont constitutes the official showcase of the RN, but each city presents particularities with more or less discreet mayors, Robert Ménard thus being able to allow stronger provocations of meaning.

Since then, Visa has initiated local branches, whether in Marseille, Béziers, in the Var and in other cities or departments, with activist teams in direct immersion in the face of the unmarked and institutionalized far right, which however recycles in its municipal teams, more radical elements, notably from Gud and Identitaires. Certain fellow trade unionists from local authorities thus have employers "unlike any other" who try to put them in line in a brutal manner, sometimes with the complicity of certain accomplice unions.

An intersyndical and local response
One can also discover in this book conceived as a "toolbox" the analyzes and the press releases of Visa as well as the trade union and inter-union expressions which are so many highlights and responses on the concrete answers to be brought, based on the values solidarity and struggle unions.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the campaign "Uni · es against the extreme right" launched in January 2014 by the CGT, Solidaires and the FSU, initiated debates and unitary union training in Béziers, in the immediate vicinity of Henin -Beaumont, d'Hayange, in Vaucluse and Lyon to help activist teams and organize the unitary union response. The political parties of the institutional left which have never really questioned themselves should take their example from these unitary approaches.

Approaching the municipal at risk of March 2020, it must be argued that the fight against the far right and its ideas does not pass after the "other" union struggles on the pretext that Marine Le Pen was beaten in the second round of the presidential election (having obtained a historic score of more than 10 million votes) and that it obtained "only" 9 deputies in 2017. We must continue to fight, tirelessly and with the same force, against liberal and government policies, our adversary who is also driving up the RN, and against fascism, our historic enemy. This book is a useful tool for that !
