(en) Greece, liberta salonica: Down with the economic and political power of capital! [machine translation]

Resistance is the duty of all the oppressed and exploited! ---- 46 years after the
Polytechnic uprising, we are today called upon to keep our collective class memory alive
by remembering the massive and unrelenting struggles that are a legacy of our current
struggles. Looking at the Technical University of 73; we see the endless dynamics of class
and social struggles, we see that the solution to tyranny, authoritarianism, ruling class
and war is popular uprising. The matches given are a beacon for today's and tomorrow's
matches. It is time for us to rise up and stand up and resist. It's time for today's
Polytechnic. As thousands of fighters then faced hardships and torture, choosing the path
of struggle and freedom, so we are called upon to fight and to give our answers to the
total anti-populist attack on the social base. The uprising of the Technical University
was not a law-and-order moment. It was the culmination of popular discontent, the
accumulated rage of youth in society as it is today.
The post-political cycle ended with the economic and parliamentary bankruptcy brought
about by the current structural crisis of capitalism. Now a new form of tyranny has
emerged, different from that of the dark-skinned junta. It is no other than the neoliberal
capitalist pomp. The ND government, following in the footsteps of SYRIZA, continues
policies that are strongly affecting the grassroots. Always in the name of the supposed
growth and competitiveness of the Greek economy it turns the worker into a real wrecker,
depriving him of the acquired rights won by the working class in collective struggles,
thus making him a capital in the hands of capital. At the same time imperialist rivalries
are intensifying and the Greek territory is transformed into a vast NATO base. Adding to
the above are the complete dismantling of the welfare state, privatization, the inhumane
treatment of immigrants, auctions, the suppression of the militant class movement, and the
plundering of nature in the name of investment. It is easy to see, then, that the new
government is completely attacking the struggling labor and social rights, with the
ultimate aim of orthodoxizing and rebuilding the urban camp, that is, those who
parasitically exploit our sweat and labor.
In the midst of a series of changes in education, the juncture now demands, more than
ever, the establishment of a militant class student movement. The new government always
adheres to the EU, OECD, capital requirements, drafting a bill that provides, among other
things: expulsion of students over n + 2 years of study, abolition of asylum, changes in
curricula, setting a minimum base on HEIs, strengthening the role institutions in
determining the number of admissions, emphasis on evaluation, attracting more resources
from individuals by entering businesses into universities for the sole purpose of serving
market needs rather than society. It then becomes clear that what the new government is
trying to do is create students who are in line with market and capital standards,
Changes in education are of course directly related to changes in the workplace. The
recently passed development bill is about to strike down collective bargaining,
stipulating its repeal, as well as making changes to insurance in a number of sectors. It
is no coincidence, after all, that the equation of private and public universities was
also voted on, creating once again class inequalities.
The slogan that sounded loud 73 '' Out of NATO '' is becoming more relevant than ever. The
depths of imperialist dependence, warfare, the conversion of Greek territory into NATO's
advanced outpost in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean make it necessary to form an
anti-war, class, transnational and transnationalist movement that to go through the
disastrous process of choosing to co-exist with "less damaging" imperialist axes. Let us
not forget that the aim of the Greek state is to play the role of the guardian of
Euro-Atlantic interests in the Balkan region, but also to be able to absorb as much of the
EEZ as possible. Tightening relations with the US and upgrading Greece's role in the NATO
alliance were recently ratified at the government's meeting with the US Secretary of
State. All this is happening while Greece remains firmly attached to the
Cyprus-Israel-Egypt-US offensive. The struggle at the Polytechnic also had
anti-imperialist characteristics, as it was directed against the bloodshed of the peoples,
as well as at US interventions in Vietnam. Students, unemployed, workers, immigrants
should actively contribute to blocking any war operation because they have nothing to gain
from EU, NATO, capital projects in general. All this is happening while Greece remains

The ND government, aiming to level off any reaction voices, has set its sights on the
world of the movement. From the brutal suppression of students at the ASOEE, to the
demonization of squatters, it is clear that its aim is to demolish every wall of
resistance. Shortly after her election, the ND took care to threaten and evacuate several
squatters, many of whom were housing. The police presence in Exarchia has clearly taken
the form of an occupation army. An army of occupation that routinely attacks sexually,
arrests and tortures our comrades, but also attacks unnecessarily, without even hesitating
to throw chemicals indoors. The attack on the structures of the movement, and in
particular the evacuation of housing squads, has brought about the so-called
refugee-migrant. What the state is essentially doing is deporting refugees and immigrants
to concentration camps, excluding them from the social fabric while depriving them of
basic human rights. State policy coupled with propaganda by the media has succeeded in
creating a xenophobic racist backlash that has been accompanied by marches, rallies and
brazen attacks, such as the one in Naples, where a 12-year-old Iranian student was injured
by a knife. received by 2 fascists. Therefore,
In the face of the total attack we accept, it is time to catch the thread of the games
again and move on to the counterattack. In the face of the bourgeois doctrine of the end
of history that hears in the name of "There is no alternative" (there is no alternative),
to be inspired by the struggles of the past, but also by the uprisings that are now taking
place internationally. Fighting with our lives in our hands. Through self-organized,
collective and unrelenting struggles to demand the satisfaction of our collective needs
while defending our class interests. Not to allow the further devaluation of our lives.
Stand against bargains, compromises and parliamentary delusions. The demands of the riot
police, though distant, are timely and alive today. The slogans "Lower Fascism" and
"Bread-Education-Freedom" can only be the spark for the new fire that is about to break
out. To live today's Polytechnic. To break the regularity. For, as the protesters' slogan
in Chile simply and simply stated, "We are not returning to normalcy, because regularity
was the problem from the beginning."
Capitalism is not a one-way street. There may be social formations that are not based on
separate power relations, which are not structured into ranks of directors and managers,
exploiters and exploiters. We must not allow the barbarism of state and capitalist
totalitarianism to be accepted. If we accept the defeat and totalitarianism in the eternal
dominance of capitalism, then we will condemn ourselves to perpetual misery. The more we
bend our heads, the more the bosses and the privileged will crush us. "Whoever does not
move does not see his chains," said Rosa Luxemburg. In order to break the chains that keep
us alive, we must dare and clash with the economic and political power of capital. We want
a world for everyone and not for a few. That is why we call upon each and every one at the
base of the social and productive pyramid to collectively and unashamedly fight for
universal human emancipation, for everyone's freedom and equality for all, for communism
and anarchy. We have nothing to lose but the chains that cling to us daily. But we have
everything to win, to build on the wreckage of capitalist domination a free and equitable
world at the height of our collective human needs. So we say we want it all for everyone.
We won't do it back. In this direction we will fight until we win! The drops are falling,
the storm is coming! we call upon each and every one at the base of the social and
productive pyramid to collectively and unknowingly strive for universal human
emancipation, for everyone's freedom and equality for all, for communism and anarchy. We
have nothing to lose but the chains that cling to us daily. But we have everything to win,
to build on the wreckage of capitalist domination a free and equitable world at the height
