(en) Greece, Coverings of the marches of November 17th By APO -- It's time to change ALL

Date Mon, 18 Nov 2019 10:18:29 +0200

IT'S TIME TO CHANGE EVERYTHING ---- History, we are told, by all accounts of the power of state and capitalism has certainly been exhausted. That process that is being worked out in denial, which challenges the dominant reason for the past, for the present, and its action envisions a different future, this History that will overthrow what was hitherto known and written as history, that the act that is born and develops in the daily struggle of the oppressed at all lengths and widths of the globe, this Hypothesis because it comes from the future and can sweep past, burn the present, it wants to end - at last. ---- And this act that gives birth to our own history, no matter how much they have tried to bury it with a thousand names forever, it emerges even under the most adverse conditions. Through the darkness of modern totalitarianism he will again say: "I was, I am, I will be the REVOLUTION, the WORLD SOCIAL REVOLUTION".

INVITATION TO THE STATEMENT OF NOVEMBER 17th

Anniversary: symbolic struggle of the past or cause of rupture here?

The uprising of the Polytechnic of '73 constitutes the biggest turning point for the local revolutionary-subversive movement, but also for modern post-war Greek history. The right-wing postwar state evolves into its most violent and barbaric form during the Junta, restoring repressive tactics it had for some time abandoned. The places of exile are again seen by political prisoners, often themselves, while in the dungeons of the cops the echoes of those who had the courage to rise again are echoed. Seven years after the establishment of the Colonel regime, a small student revolt turns into a social fire, with intense revolutionary traits that burns it down, kneeling eight months later. The ensuing post-state state is established by the blessings of the same local and foreign interests (Greek big capital - mainly the shipbuilding, US government) who had some years earlier carried out the rise of dictatorship and were forced to 'actually' against society and movements, granting them fundamental rights. This is largely due to the duration and continuity of the Polytechnic uprising, which even in the years that followed until the 80s continued to burn the reality of power. the US government) who had a few years earlier handled the rise of dictatorship and were forced to 'soften' their stance on society and movements by granting them basic rights. This is largely due to the duration and continuity of the Polytechnic uprising, which even in the years that followed until the 80s continued to burn the reality of power.

The potential of these 'anniversary' revolts was only tempered by the rise of social democracy in government, with the victory of PASOK. in the '81 elections. That is, the state used the most insidious of all its repression techniques, alienation. It is no coincidence that many executives of the then "left" government had taken part in the original uprising of '73, bringing with them a whole generation of conformism and integration, synonymous with these epithets: the so-called Polytechnic generation. This tactic was then used again by the state and capital to cope with the ever-increasing '' indignation '' of society in homonymous squares during the early years of the financial crisis of '11.

Today's anniversary, therefore, commemorates not one but many uprisings that have sculptured modern Greek political reality, and from whose genocides came a new revolutionary, political space: the Anarchist.

The junta is not over and it will never end unless we finish it.

Almost five decades later we are again confronted with a state mechanism that attempts to attack the world of struggle. The fronts and conditions have certainly changed, but not the ones that strike us. New government of New Delhi's 'electoral omnipotence' it comes to scan, pushing for change in all areas. From migrant-refugee to education, the economy and the repression of society, the ruling party introduces neo-liberalism into the most sophisticated form of imposing capital interests on the social majority on all fronts: a modern, that is, totalitarianism.

University education is intensifying and student benefits are diminishing, while new private universities are gearing up for new polynomials. That is to say, institutions that foster and nurture social and class inequality in the neuralgic field of education. Students are urged to increase their graduation rates by reverting to n + 2 years of study, so that their free time is reduced to a minimum in conjunction with the flexible working hours, poorly paid part-time jobs they are required to pursue in order to secure a minimum. And the introduction of economics into the public and - apparently - planned private universities of the future is coming to create an even more stacked academy, which will either produce a useful and disciplined super-skilled workforce for the interests of capital, or be '' rationalized ''. The recent incursion of MATs into the ASOEE to safeguard the lockout that its students have broken demonstrates in a most degrading way both the goals of state policy and the means by which it will serve them.

By the same token, the right-wing ruling party is trying to rationalize another major state problem: the migrant-refugee and the kinematic structures around it. Refugees and immigrants housed in kinematic, housing squads are displaced in hotspots after their violent evacuation, often pushing them into much worse living conditions, isolating them from the social fabric. In this way it beats the anarchist and broader progressive movement and its structures, while at the same time managing to control a potentially dangerous mass of people for the state. At the same time it is cultivated by the government through the media. a wave of racist and xenophobic hatred, with the first shoots emerging in the form of concentrations and routes against the transfer and settlement of refugees in various parts of northern Greece (Vrasna Halkidiki, Giannitsa, Naoussa, N. Krini) and not only (Lefkada). The culmination of the state's tactics to provide fertile ground for the development of fascist and Nazi, xenophobic groups is the knife-wielding of a first-grade Gymnasium student originating in Iran in the Neapolis area of Thessaloniki with two inmates. last to injure the unfortunate student in the palm.

At the same time, the government has declared war on the wider movement, and in particular its anarchist part, by threatening to evacuate many occupied sites of high symbolic political value and evacuate others, such as the anarchist occupation of Palmares in Larissa, the occupation of large numbers of Vancouver Apartment of the occupations mentioned above in Athens. The police presence, especially in Exarchia, has taken the form of an occupation army. Attacks on Exarchia Square, leading to the assault on occupied K * BOX and the removal of the political stand, have intensified following the ND's assumption of power with the MAT. to constantly hit and lift clouds of tear gas and asphyxiation gases into the atmosphere of the area, as well as to feed people on a daily basis,

The changes that are being promoted at the last minute, often just minutes before the new bills are passed, show how the current government chooses to act, without implying that it had no worthy predecessors. The Ministry of Labor is introducing a multitude of window-in-between measures and removing employers to justify layoffs, reducing contractors and super-contractors' responsibilities and promoting the introduction of online voting for union strikes, a measure clearly aimed at those who and those who dare trade unionists to resist capital expansion.

To rekindle the resistance in our hearts ...

At a global level one can easily observe the desperate situation in which the imposition of state-capital has led us. Conflicting fronts are constantly on the rise, the state of the natural environment is marginal, western countries are governed by one far-right or almost far-right party, the rights of the oppressed of all forms are increasingly being violated, whether they are workers or refugees, whether indigenous elsewhere, unemployed, militant, and so on. In the deep blue Aegean, there are dozens who die daily fighting for a tomorrow in which they will at least survive on the basics. The racist hatred of everything else is technically cultivated to combat anything that doesn't fit into the molds of the state, of capital and of their crumbling civilization. Identity people who do not fit in with the social majority, loatqia members, immigrants, deplorable metropolitan dependents, are called upon to either compromise or become victims of cultivated rage against the other, often paying the ultimate price, as in the case of K that of their lives. The insurrection and the resistance have not died out completely, nor are they. The outbreaks in Chile, Syria, have paved the way for freedom and for others to follow, in the eternal struggle against fear, hatred and anger that the power sows. or become victims of cultivated rage against the different, often paying the ultimate price, as in the case of Jacques Costopoulos, that of their lives. The insurrection and the resistance have not completely died, nor are they. In the face of the endless futility of the state and of the capital, in the ways of those who work for us to fulfill their self-appetizing appetites, in the resignation that power expects to reproduce, there are but a few options left to us: to elevate them of capitalism, to anarchically organize ourselves, fight the hierarchies with self-denial, and raise our political embankment, no matter how high our foes imagine. To open the way to the here and now, to create a free, community, collective world. With people stepping on their feet and looking at the sky, not bent and destitute people waiting for redemption. To follow the thread of that far-off November uprising ...
