(en) gargantas-libertarias - Opinion: First defeat the dictatorship, then build direct democracy (ca, it) [machine translation]

Date Thu, 7 Feb 2019 12:01:31 +0200

(Editor's note: We are pleased to share opinions and debates that begin to generate the Venezuelan situation on the part of Anarchists inside and outside our country, we like more the opinions that escape the campaigns of the big mediatic machineries of the world) ---- By: María Peña The order of the factors, in this case if it alters the product. Some comrades, in front of what is happening in Venezuela, are proposing that first we have to build a different alternative political reference, and then advance in the defeat of the government. I'm sorry, but they're wrong. ---- With regret I recognize that from the revolutionary left we have been unable to build, in the days of Hugo Chávez, a leftist opposition to Bolivarianism. Not only because of our own limitations and complicit silence, but above all because of the immense loss of prestige that Chavism has brought about our ideas. However, for reasons that would be long to explain here, in those days we lived the last days of democracy, where we were not fighting for our daily survival or ours were not forced to leave the country if they wanted to have a future. With Maduro everything changed. Today, in the circumstances that your government has created, it is impossible to carry out an alternative political project -for political and economic reasons-, because we are threatened as individuals to simply disappear. The FAES is an extermination group that is acting without control in our neighborhoods. The mass detention is a business, because they charge high sums in dollars to leave ours free. We must defeat the dictatorship in order to have, again, material, social and political conditions to promote an emancipation project for Venezuela.

Therefore the task of the first order is to defeat the dictatorship to advance to another scenario. Juan Guaidó is not ours, nor will he ever be, but we must accompany all the people who today, in every corner of Venezuela, are demanding change, and are being repressed and killed for it. I do not write down that no ideology, in its purity, has no answers to the real dilemmas of the people. Or demobilize. Today I am on the street, together with the crowds, demanding to return to a state of affairs where we can have the capacity and the conditions to fight again for libertarian communism.
