(en) afed.cz: Black Boy Scout No. 1 -- Review of the first issue of the Black Boy Scouts magazine

Date Sat, 5 Jan 2019 08:03:57 +0200

At the beginning of the summer of 2018, the new initiative of the Chernorudi Scout appeared within the anarchist movement, and it did not take long, and the world's first edition of the magazine Cernorudý Scout. "The Black Boy Scout is an independent movement associating boys and girls, men and women of all ages with an interest in left-wing, non-authoritarian scouting - an educational movement inspired by the ideas of Ernest Thompson Seton and Francesco Ferrer. We find our inspiration in free and unbounded hiking. "And he continues to describe what is the practical content, aim and inspiration of the initiative. A little more you read in an interview with one of the initiators - what is the difference with the Czech Junák; what are the prospects; how to get involved and get to know others; how to work with children, etc. In a separate article, you will then find out if the black boys have a uniform. If you guess it's a contradiction, you guess right. There is unequivocally expressed "dislike of military uniforms and distribution to subordinates and superiors", in addition, uniforms "combat the individuality of an individual". Whoever wants, can tie a black-red scarf. It's up to everybody else.

The very first issue gives you some idea of what the following topics are likely to be, although the texts are not particularly organized. First of all, they are descriptions of the experiences of joint trips. This time we will bring us to the vicinity of the village of Licomerice near the village of Železné Hory, on the expedition with the reference of local guerrillas. And you will also learn what the atmosphere was at the first camp meeting of black and red scouts in Brdy. They are especially interested in joint trips of adults and children. Besides, in a very brief summary you will look around the settlements of Kokorínsko.

Another circle is the practical advice that opens the philosophical reflection "Chundr as a Path", whose author is confessed of his relationship to wandering through the landscape, which allows him to calm down his thoughts and open his feelings. At the same time, such a journey makes it necessary to minimize the needs and get a relationship to the equipment that enables them to fulfill. And while we're in the gear, it will not hurt a couple of recommendations for the beginner tramps to pack up the jungle without having to issue thousands for outdoor goods. You will learn how to make fire, how to dispose of it and how to clean it up. Separate text advises what material is most suitable as a firebreaker. For the more advanced here, there are a few tips on how to fool the police drones.

Recognizing nature is not a thing, especially if we can enrich our kettle goodies that are cooked over the fire. And so please get acquainted with: garlic vine and sunflower topinambur. From the animal kingdom you will learn about the wolf (which is also on the cover of the magazine and in the character of the Black-eyed Scouts) and its spread in the Czech Republic in recent years.

The "Black Aileron" section is filled with aphorisms, anecdotes, poetry and a frog about a wolf and a dog with a clear message. A bit of the theory is the translation of Janet Biehl's text "The Thesis on Social and Deep Ecology". One of the forms of anarchist activism will present the talk about Food not Bombs, and an unusual report from the Becov nad Teplou festival, which is not about the program, but about the water, is worth mentioning.

It is definitely a pleasant read on the train on the way to the chord. Anyone who is interested can get involved in other numbers. All you have to do is keep the thumbs up for the magazine and the initiative to go on and grow.
