Thanks to the ongoing between September 30 and October 4, 2018, talks between trade union organizations and representatives of the board of Amazon Fulfillment Poland Sp. zoo for a period of four months has been suspended the controversial system of evaluating employees, which OZZ Inicjatywa Pracownicza has been criticizing for many months. ---- On behalf of OZZ Employee Initiative operating in Amazon from September 30 to October 4, we negotiated with the second trade union the Christmas Bonus Rules. The conversations were not easy. Amazon initially offered a bonus depending on the magazine in the amount of PLN 1200 and PLN 900 with a 4-week settlement period. The unions demanded a higher bonus, i.e. not lower than last year, and the same amount for all locations. At the same time, the employer made the introduction of any bonus subject to the approval of the amount proposed by the management board by trade union organizations.

The final bonus amount of PLN 1,300 for POZ and WRO and PLN 1000 for KTW and SZZ, for permanent and agency workers, does not satisfy us in terms of the amount, but we have decided to accept it provided that Amazon suspends controversial provisions regarding the employee appraisal system ( it is about negative feedback in terms of efficiency and quality, so-called feedbacks, regulated by Annex 3 to the Work Regulations). It was also possible to shorten the period of compulsory attendance to 3 weeks, required to obtain the bonus (required presence refers to the period between 9 and 29 December) and introduce additional exceptions that are not so-called. incident that does not receive bonuses (special leave, medical visit to 1 hour, court summons).

Suspension of Annex No. 3, that is, giving feedback for standards and quality, we consider breakthrough in the fight to improve working conditions in Amazon magazines. A document - the introduction of which was never agreed with trade unions - allowed Amazon to dismiss employees for failure to set the standard or quality. 100% of productivity was expected of a warehouse worker, and in the case of receiving a total of 6 assessments due to the need for attention within 12 months, or 4 such assessments in a row (rated on 1 week of work), the employee was recommended to be dismissed, even if he was 99% of the norm .

Our relationship during leaflets, protests as well as ongoing lawsuits repeatedly justified why the current rating system was biased, did not include down-time downtimes by the employee and led to exerting psychological pressure on employees. This was referred to by an expert in the court, writing in the expert opinion that "Work in the Amazon is not adapted to the physical and psychological abilities of man and employee". Rising standards (whose growth has not been consulted with representatives of the union) led to exhaustion and eternal pursuit of the norm, which threatened the health of employees. In August, we described this issue in the letter of Amazon's president of operations, Steven Harman. We informed about the problem of the Labor Inspectorate,

Annex No. 3 to the Work Regulations was suspended for the period from 8/10/2018 to 31/01/2019. At that time, none of the employees will receive a negative assessment due to too low productivity and quality and can not receive a contract termination on this basis. By the end of January 2019, trade union organizations will agree new provisions in this document during 8 meetings with representatives of the board - the first will take place on October 18, 2018. If the employer fails to reach an agreement in relation to the proposed changes by January 31, 2019, this will be extended to 28 February 2019.

The amount of the "Christmas Bonus" for employees of Amazon Fulfillment Poland Sp zoo and agency workers is specified in the table below - it is calculated per week, and its condition is the occurrence of a maximum of one absence from 9 to 29 December 2018.
