(en) France, Alternative Libertaire AL #285 - obituary, Montpellier: an emotional farewell to Olivier Fulcrand (fr, it, pt)[machine translation]
Thu, 6 Sep 2018 10:50:21 +0300
Tuesday, September 4, his comrades, his family and loved ones will pay a last tribute to
Olivier, blown away by cancer at the end of the summer. He will be missed by all and
friends of freedom, equality and solidarity. ---- The militant milieu of the Herault was
accustomed to his great figure, his playful conversation, his nervous phrasing, his blood
shots too, sometimes. Because Olivier was an entire comrade. ---- He had made his debut in
1973, in the high school movement against the law Debré. He was then, along with Jean-Marc
Izrine, one of the leaders of the protest at the Robert-Schuman high school in Colombes,
in the Hauts-de-Seine. Shortly after, the two accomplices joined the Anarchist
Revolutionary Organization, ancestor of Alternative Libertaire.
In the years 1980-1990, Olivier had moved away from the libertarian movement. He returned
there around 2003, joining AL, in Montpellier. Precarious worker, most often in the
building, living feebly, he deployed his solidarity action on multiple fronts: with the
undocumented, at the foot of the prison of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone when José Bové, Jules
and many others were imprisoned, within the voluntary reapers of GMOs, for Palestine
during the operation A boat for Gaza, alongside migrants and migrants ...
Very active support also for the students during the fight against the CPE, especially
against the repression, he was also a figure of the anti-capitalist and anti-capitalist
offensive group (CROAC) of Montpellier, as well as a very active activist of the local
committee of support to the accused. .es of Tarnac. More generally, he was of all the
collectives and manifestations of the Montpellier social movement.
In December 2015, during the events on the sidelines of the Cop 21, he appeared in this
report from Là-bas if I'm there (between 1'30 '' e 2 '), true to himself.
Click to listen to it.
Since the summer of 2017, a cancer had removed him from the struggles, but as soon as he
had the strength he joined his comrades at rallies, end of dem, etc. He was still present
in July 2018 at the AL Summer Meetings in Aveyron.
In this Aveyron, where he had lived for several years, he had participated actively in the
meetings of Roucous, a place of life that keeps the memory of an activist putting into
practice his convictions, and where his contacts with the permanent.es as with the hosts
were very much alive. His help and his feedback at each passage allowed to better perceive
the evolutions of the young people.
The disease finally got the better of him on 30 August, in its 62 th year. He would have
liked to see his grandson grow up, Milo.
Libertarian alternative - like Roucous, the NPA 34, the committee BDS 34 and the CGA
Montpellier, which hailed his memory - will keep from this comrade an emotional memory.
May his family and loved ones be assured of our support in this painful moment.
