(en) Turkey: Overall 14 anarchists sent to prison related with Mayday 2012 protests

Last week 9 people had been sent to prison following a police operation against anarchists
ending with 48 arrests related with Mayday riots (the exact number of arrests is not clear
due to the privacy of the file; according to some other news it was about 60). On 29th of
May, a new operation was held ending with 7 arrests. Two of them released by the decision
of the prosecutor, the remaining 5 sent to the prison after the court. So, now overall 14
are in prison waiting for their trial. ---- Today (02.06.2012) at 19:00, a solidarity
action will be held in Taksim- Istanbul with the call of "Solidarity Initiative with the
Mayday Prisoners". The initiative also made another call to meet with the families and
friends of the prisoners visiting them in Metris T Type prison on Monday at 12:00.
