(en) Chile, Anarchist journal, "Solidaridad", issue No.2 July-August 2010 out now (ca)
Date
Wed, 28 Jul 2010 16:33:05 +0300
The second issue of the Chilean class-struggle libertarian magazine "Solidaridad" is now
available. The publication is a joint effort by the Santiago anarchist organizations Voz
Negra, Estrategia Libertaria and the Corriente de Acción Libertaria. This issue has
increased in size (16 pages) and costs 300 pesos. For information and contacts, write to
publicacion.solidaridad at gmail dot com ---- Editorial (extract): ---- "Ultimately, more
than 500,000 workers receive an inadequate minimum wage, a situation which also affects
their families (about 2,000,000 people) who can thus barely survive, while the cost of
living continues to increase every day. This situation does not depend exclusively on the
right-wing government of the day, nor on their predecessors from the Concertación, but
directly as a consequence of an economic model that both blocs administer in their own
way, whose essence is to enrich the few at the cost of the poverty of the many, who are
exploited. That is why shanty-town residents, workers and students have to cope with
rising transport costs, the fight for wage claims and against layoffs, the dismantling of
the public health service and the reduction of student grants. It is necessary to organize
and support all the struggles that our class is involved in, taking a stand against the
pettiness and greed of the interests of a wealthy minority, who laugh at the misery..."
